“Thank god I found you, Andrew, because we have to go to work today!” Olivia exclaimed! “Let’s go get ready!”
Olivia quickly closed her fist, a bit too tightly of course, flattening you slightly worse than you already were at the moment before bounding back into her bedroom. Mackenzie took a moment to watch Olivia’s blessed backside jiggle before rolling her eyes and heading back into her room. Part of her thought about trying to push her luck and mess with you more, but she ultimately knew that she didn’t want to do anything to jeopardize your job. After all, having three sources of income made paying rent for the apartment significantly easier, even if she did disapprove of you and Olivia on the whole.
Back in your room, Olivia deposited your flattened form on the dresser, right next to your tiny-sized wardrobe of your own, before starting to get dressed. You wished at the very least that you could have snuck a peek of Olivia as she changed as payment for the morning of clueless squashing that she had inflicted upon you, but sadly you had to focus on reforming. After a few minutes you made yourself pop back into the third dimension, only to see that Olivia had just finished buttoning up her white dress shirt that she tucked into a smart but still revealing grey skirt. Of course, thanks to her body it looked a bit more form fitting than it would on most.
“Come on! What’re ya waiting for? Get dressed, we can't be late!” Olivia said, clearly already forgetting the fact that she had smashed you flat not once but twice thus far this morning. You thought about mentioning that fact but you knew it would likely go in one ear and out the other. So instead you opened up your wardrobe and grabbed a simple pair of chinos and a dress shirt. The two of you finished off your morning routine with a quick trip to the bathroom to brush your teeth (thankfully with no incidents) and headed out.
Riding in a normal sized car was always a bit of a process for tiny guys, especially doing so with a ditz like Olivia. It seemed like there wasn’t a single safe space for you to ride comfortably no matter what you tried. The dashboard was a sure fire way to get tossed around whenever Olivia took a sharp turn. The passenger seat inevitably led to you getting sat on if Olivia ever picked anyone up to carpool. The cup holder seemed relatively safe, except for last week when Olivia slammed her coffee cup on top of you. That really sucked. Riding somewhere on Olivia’s person was fun as well, but it inevitably led to you being covered in sweat or squished.
So as boring as it was, you found yourself riding in the dark, zipped confines of Olivia’s purse. Resting your back on a folded up tissue next to a pack of gum, it wasn’t the worst ride ever. You prayed the day would never come that she needed to blow her nose. Olivia, meanwhile, was singing along to her music and tapping her feet happily. You had recently gotten a hold of a tiny cell phone which did wonders in situations like these wherein she was likely to forget about you. If only there was a way to use it when you were crushed flat then it would be the most lifesaving advancement in the history of tiny technology.
In around 20 minutes the two of you arrived at work, the marketing firm that you and Olivia managed to both get jobs at after graduation. As Olivia strutted in you sent her a quick text reminding her of your whereabouts, something she evidently needed as her eyes shot open in realization. She gently reached in and grabbed your body, this time much more carefully than she was in the morning thankfully.
Now safely in your girlfriend’s hand, the two of you arrived at your desks. Well, her desk more specifically. Your desk was a tiny table with a tiny laptop that sat atop of Olivia’s regular-sized desk. At least, that’s what it typically was like. At that moment, every square inch of Olivia’s desk was covered with pictures, files, newspapers, and various other papers. Your desk was nowhere to be found. Next to this changed environment was none other than your boss, Camila Lozano. She stood next to Olivia’s desk with a smug smile, looking at the two of you.
“Right on time, guys!” She feigned being amicable as she typically does. But you looked up at Olivia and shot each other a side eye, knowing something strange was up. Camila wasn’t a terrible boss necessarily, but she did have a habit of making your jobs a bit more complicated than they needed to be… typically yours. She continued talking, “Sorry for the mixup but we need to spread these research materials on Olivia’s desk for the foreseeable future! Andrew, we had to relocate your desk for the time being!”
You began to get nervous immediately. Camila had a habit of putting you in situations that weren’t exactly safe for a tiny guy of your stature. In fact, you were the only tiny in the entire agency, and you were willing to bet that was due to her. Interrupting your train of thought, Camila quickly pulled Olivia’s chair out from her desk, and underneath it, on the cold dirty carpet you saw a faint blue light on top of a tiny wooden table.
“You’ll be working underneath Olivia!” She said, smiling confidently, but with the obvious air of mischief in her eyes. “I don’t mean that in the corporate ladder sense, by the way! I just mean literally! That shouldn’t be a big deal for you two, right?”
“Ms. Lozano, surely there must be somewhere else that my desk could be for the time being.” You piped up from Olivia’s hand, taking one more glance into the dark cave that it was currently situated in. The back of the desk went all the way to the carpet, not even leaving an inch of light or air coming in.
“Well, you could always set up shop in my office! I’m sure we could find somewhere to squeeze you in there!” She responded, having thought ahead of your objection. You shook off that idea immediately. Spending complete alone time with your boss was a guaranteed path towards something even worse than this current situation.
“Uhhh, sorry. We can make this work, no problem!” You cleared your throat and said, feigning confidence.
“Great! Then go ahead and get started!” Camila said as she stepped aside and gestured for Olivia to first set you down, then sit down herself. Olivia had her objections herself, but she figured it was a done deal, so she shot you an understanding look before bending over and dropping you a few inches onto the carpet. You walked forward into the closed off cube of space that made up the underside of Olivia’s desk and finally reached your desk. Pulling up the chair you logged into your computer and looked behind you. Olivia’s sheepish face was closest to you, with Camila suppressing a grin a number of feet behind her watching the entire situation. You turned back around and tried your best to start working, despite everything.
“Okay we’re all settled! Good luck today!” Camila said and you could have sworn that you heard her stifle a giggle as she walked away.
So far this didn’t seem to be the end of the world. It was a little dark but you could manage for the time being. However, what you didn’t realize was that Olivia had yet to pull her chair in. At that moment you heard the sound of her chair’s wheels rolling across the carpet, and immediately you felt an overwhelming presence behind you. You looked up and mere inches above your head was the enormous, worn down sole of Olivia’s work flats. The tread on the bottom was one you recognized well, having spent time absolutely flattened into nearly every square inch of each groove over the course of the time you had known her. Immediately, you took out your phone and texted her.
