The distant drip of moisture echoes from beyond the gloomy lack of light that envelops this tunnel. The never ending scratch of unseen creatures beyond this veil of darkness keep you from getting too comfortable. You're never truly alone in the mine known as Glimmerstone Grotto. Whether it's a grue that managed to avoid being hunted into extinction or some small vermin gathering food for its kin, the many sounds within this crystal cave don't stop as your lantern's light gleams off of a nearby formation of crystals. If worst comes to worst, then maybe you can just break off a few crystals and sell them as trinkets instead of looking for unclaimed valuables.
You're not a thief, as many uneducated individuals tend to label you, you are a treasure hunter. It just so happens that the treasures that you search for tend to have belonged to somebody else at some point in history. But hey, if someone with too many riches decides to leave huge treasure chests lying around in the world, then they shouldn't be surprised when some daring adventurer sees fit to make these contents their own!
It is one such chest that makes you hold your breath as you look upon it. Green with mold and slimy to the touch, this chest may have stood here in this dank corner of Glimmerstone Grotto for many millennia, undiscovered until this very moment. The lock of this chest turns to dust at your touch, leaving you free to pull the lid up with one hand. You quickly set your lantern down and push the heavy lid with your other hand, the chest creaks to reveal...

Nothing but a swirl of sparking smoke that gets into your eyes and causes you to choke and gasp for air! You try to back away from the chest, but trip over your own lantern! Stumbling about, you eventually tip forward and into the open chest! Coughing and sputtering, the smoke slowly dissipates, leaving you to feel the effects of this magical substance.
