As the door swung open and MC prepared to fire the size ray, a golden, question-mark like hook suddenly swung down from the right of the door, just out of his view.
It seems that Sly had, in fact, noticed the teenager watching him through the office door and, while MC took more than a little too long to come up with his next move, had prepared himself to deal with whatever the student was planning, knocking the size ray out of his arm...and expertly sending it skidding to right in front of Sly, who kicked it upwards and caught it in his free hand. "Now then, what exactly were you planning to do with this...TV remote?"
"G-give that back!" MC, still somehow not recognizing his history teacher and now just concerned that someone had quite literally stolen his latest creation from his grasp...and also kinda reeling from the pain that Sly caused by striking his arm with the cane, rushed forward, trying to grab his only weapon from the "mysterious thief"...
"W-woah, kid calm down you're gonna hurt your-" Sly did not want to hurt MC. Honestly, the nerdy college student reminded him a bit of a younger Bently and he was fond of the kid. But he also didn't expect him to rush forward and try to tackle him, which is why as he did...
The size-ray went off, and the beam it fired hit MC square in the chest, causing him to dwindle downwards to only around an inch tall in a matter of seconds, now standing at the booted feet of the Racoon theif.
"...This thing is a shrink ray?" Cooper turned to look at the device...and let the fact that one of his pupils was now only the size of a toy...and the fact that MC had planned to do so to him. Well, can't really blame him any more than any cop who had tried to arrest him over the years but what to do with the smallfry... He was keeping the remote that much is for sure...
