The Hakkons are a humanoid mammalian alien race residing on the planet of Hella-5B, a moon orbiting a gas giant called Hella-5. The Hakkons are very similar to humans aside from a few features. Hakkons typically have much fuller hair and their ears are placed on the tops of their heads rather than the sides, and said ears are similar to the ears of animals from earth, like cats, wolves, etc, depending on what region on Hella they're from. Hakkons also have retractable claws on the ends of their fingers and toes, tails on their lower backs, and razor sharp teeth in their mouths.
Their society can be described as a late-industrialized society, which basically means they've well passed their Industrial Age, having advanced factories dotting large urban centers, and they have made wide use of combustion engines and flying propeller-based vehicles.
Currently, the Hakkons of Hella-5B are divided into numerous nationstates with various forms of governments and ideologies behind them. However upon discovery by explorers, almost all of them were embroiled in a large scale world wide war. One in which where alliances and pacts of multiple nationstates are fighting each other for various reasons, causing much destruction and death upon the planet. Thankfully, the native Hakkons have yet to invent nuclear weapons, so extinction is unlikely. However it's very likely that the Hakkons will build one eventually if the war doesn't end soon.
Whoever takes this planet within their sphere of influence will not only get front row seats to new military tactics and ideas, but they could gain a great opportunity to take control over the planet for themselves without too much conflict or a chance to save the Hakkons from themselves.
