It was dark red, and about the size of a grapefruit, although it was shaped more like a mango. It had soft, slightly fuzzy skin, and emitted a sweet smell that made Twilight's mouth water. When was the last time she had eaten? She couldn't remember. Perhaps not since lunchtime, if even then. The fruit looked delicious, and Twilight reached out towards it.
She felt something slimy between her fingers, as though there were a few leaves underneath. But she didn't mind, for the fruit smelled incredible! She bit into it, and the sweet juice ran down her throat like warm honey. She felt her stomach rumble, and after what seemed like minutes of chewing, she had finished the entire fruit.
Despite how small it was, it left her feeling extremely satisfied. More than that, there was a strange feeling of peace and happiness bubbling inside her as the sweet taste lingered on her tongue. She got up, more energized than before, and gazed at the plant in front of her once more.
Her eyes widened as she saw another fruit growing, and she quickly grabbed it. This time, when she bit into it, she tasted a tangy flavor that reminded her of apples, and as she chewed it, she realized why the plant was so called "sweet" in nature. It had an almost salty flavor to it, but it was still very much enjoyable.
The happiness she felt was accompanied by a warmth in her body. It felt good, and it was hard to stop smiling. She sat back down on the bench, and watched the plant closely, noticing more fruits appearing at its base. She was full at this point, but happily collected the fruits for later. After this, she decided to call it a day, walking back to her dorm. She picked at her skirt a bit as she walked. Had it gotten smaller in the wash or something?
