The buck growled at her. From what she could see, there was clear hate in the human's eyes.
"What's the matter?" Hanna asked. "Are you injured?"
"You killed my father," the human growled out.
"Well, at least he can talk," said James. "Makes a few things easier."
"Why your father seems to settle for Dangerous humans is beyond my understanding," a voice said, as a side door opened, and the Prime Breeder, John, hobbled his way inside. "Could of gotten some tenth generation Prime that was Docile. But, nope - he likes to get Ferals."
"You're one to talk," said Hanna. "You're a Feral."
"I know," said John. "That's why I was hoping to have a little chat with this one, so that he knew his place."
It was then that the two humans got a good look at each other, and the eyes of both of them widened.
"Tobias?" John exclaimed.
"Father?" the buck responded back. "Mother said that a bear had killed you, and that a werewolf had taken your body!"
"She wasn't too far off," John said, as he walked up to his son, and embraced him. "The bear did nearly kill me, and the werewolf did take me."
"Then, why aren't you dead?" Tobias asked, as he held onto John.
"Special laws dictated that since I saved his life, the werewolf had to save mine in return," said John.
"Why didn't you come back?" Tobias asked. "Couldn't you escape?"
"The bear messed my leg up too much to make the attempt successful," John said, tears in his eyes. "I couldn't risk putting you or your mother, or the rest of the Herd, in danger."
"I think I understand," said Tobias.
"Enough of that," said John. "How's your mother?"
