Being the owner of a successful farm has its pros and cons like anything else. On one hand, the Wolfe's never went hungry, due to their plentiful food supply. On the other, however, Robert and Julia rarely got to spend time as a couple, due to the both of them being busy all day with their respective chores, for lack of a better word. Not to mention, the responsibilities of raising a family.
But tonight was special for them. It was their anniversary, and they would be spending the evening together in town, just the two of them. They might have a nice dinner, maybe catch a movie, whatever they feel like. James, being the oldest of their children, would have the job of watching the house and his siblings until they returned.
John, the herd's watchdog, would be on patrol around the pasture to make sure nobody attempted to escape while Robert and Julia were away. And three newly captured humans, Dennis, Darren and Dixie, would be doing just that. Dennis was the leader of the group, being the oldest at fourteen, and had a plan to knock John out with some spiked juice, swipe his keys and walk out the front gate back to their own herd.
Robert and Julia dressed in their best clothes and entered the family vehicle for their night out on the town. "Are you sure this is a good idea?" Julia asked "Everything will be fine." Robert assured her. "Besides, how often do we get time to ourselves? James and John can handle anything that might come up, trust me." With that, they made their way past the property line and towards the city.
