Wanda was defeated. She finally found her children after all this time…and they were afraid of her. She let America Chavez go after she’d shown her the error of her ways. In this lonely moment she realized just how much the Darkhold had twisted her. She couldn’t let this happen to anyone else, the mountain had to be destroyed. She lifted her hand as if flared with energy. The stones crumbled and the dark monument fell away.
But something unexpected happened. All that dark magic releasing at once reacted with whatever residual energy was left over from America throwing her power around up on that mountain. So for a brief moment. And in that moment all the magical energy was pulled inside as it imploded, taking Wanda with it.
Now the Scarlet Witch was falling. Falling through spacetime and multiple universes. She’d thought she had sacrificed herself for the greater good, but it looked like cruel fate wasn’t done with her yet. Figures, bad things always happened to her whenever she tried to do “good”.
