Well, this was the place. You applied for and were accepted for the position as a servant for some wealthy recluse out in the countryside. You had no idea what they looked like though or who they were. In front of you now was the large estate of your new employer. Nervously, you knocked on the door.
The door opened on its own, quite suddenly in fact. You cautiously stepped through, looking around for any sign of anyone in the large room. “Hello?” you call out.
“Over here,” a female voice called out. It came from a half opened door. You entered the new room to an interesting sight.
The room was some kind of study, with a wall of books flanking either side of a desk. In front of that desk sat a woman with very striking features, and you didn’t mean her large breasts, wide hips, or elegant glasses. Firstly, sprouting from her black hair was a pair of cat ears with white tips. Her cheeks were decorated by whiskers and a tail delicately waived from the gap in her wheelchair. Speaking of which, she was also in a wheelchair because she was entirely missing her arms and legs. She had to be strapped into her chair presumably because she didn’t even have any stumps to balance or catch herself.
“There you are. Are you here for the servant job?” she asked.
“Uh, y-yeah. That is why I’m here,” you said.
“Finally. Well my name is Sarakesh Aataten.”
“S-Sarak-”
“You can just call me Sara. It’s from a dead language, so I don’t expect you to pronounce it correctly.”
“A dead language?”
“As in it’s so old, no one alive still speaks it. Well, except for me of course.”
“What do you mean?”
“Right, I expected I would need to explain this all to you. I’m a neko. I know you don’t know what that is. You hear about how cats have nine lives?”
“Yeah?”
“Well, it’s based on my species. We live for a very very long time and we have some cat features.” Sara’s ears flicked as if to demonstrate. “And because we live so long, we’re able to become wealthy just by saving our money, something impossible for short lived humans.”
“I…see. So, do nekos also not have limbs?” you asked without realizing.
Sara groaned, revealing how dumb your question truly was. “No. I was born with both arms and legs. However, over the course of my life, for various different and unrelated circumstances, I would lose all of them, reducing my body to…this.” Obviously referring to her limbless state. “And as such, I need someone to take care of me physically, full time. That’s where you come in. In return for payment and accommodations, you will take care of me from 4:00 pm to midnight, replacing the previous night shift servant. In the mornings, I have someone else to take care of me, so at that time and the night you will be free from your responsibilities. Do you have any other questions about your job?”
You shook your head no.
“Good. I’m aware my needs might be…more than what you were expecting, but for various reasons I have to keep my condition and species a secret. So, now that you’re informed, do you still want the job?”
Honestly, you were a week away from getting kicked out of your old apartment anyway, so you had no power to say no even if you wanted you. “Yes I do.”
“Good. You can start by pushing me out of my study. I’ll lead you to your room where you can get dressed.”
“Yes ma’am.” You move behind the neko’s wheelchair and grab its handles. Even from where you were, the smell of her conditioner was tickling your nose, making you a bit less stressed over your new job. Even if she was an amputee, at least she was still hot, you thought.
