How’s this rubber pirate gonna shrink?
(The following scenarios will be post time-skip)
1.
The strawhat crew sailed to an island to investigate rumours about a grand treasure being hidden there. While most of the crew had disembarked to investigate the island, Nami and Luffy stayed behind on the Thousand Sunny. Luffy was still fast asleep when they arrived, and Nami didn’t want to leave the ship alone in his hands. Unbeknownst to them, a bounty hunter had planted the treasure rumor as a trap to lure in the strawhats so he could claim their bounty. This certain hunter had the ‘shrink-shrink’ fruit, allowing him to shrink himself and anything he touched. He snuck onboard and managed to touch the sleeping Luffy, before making his escape. Upon waking up, Luffy found himself shrunken to only an inch tall, with Nami none the wiser still sitting in her room.

While Luffy explored Neptune’s palace in Fishman Island, he came across an opening to a pitch black room. As he stepped in, a strange sensation surrounded his body. Thinking nothing of it, he continued forwards, attracted to the smell of food inside. Little did he know that this was Princess Shirahoshi’s room, and that he just triggered the palace’s defense system. It was meant to defend against Vander Decken’s attacks, shrinking each weapon he launched to a tiny, safe size. Considering how giant Shirahoshi was already, anything shrunk by the defenses would make them nothing more than a speck to her. Shirahoshi was still fast asleep on her bed, and Luffy was about to make his journey to what he thinks is a paradise of food.
3.
After another scuffle with the World Government, Luffy found himself stranded on Amazon Lily once again. While walking through the island’s forest, he came across a mushroom he had never seen before. Being too hungry to really care about the consequences, he took a bite. This type of mushroom, however, contained a shrinking fungus in it. Coincidentally, Boa Hancock was bathing in a hot spring in this part of the island. At Luffy’s new tiny size, the forest floor made him fairly cold, making him attracted to the heat of the nearby hot spring.
4.
Nico Robin and Luffy were exploring the depths of Wano, investigating the rumours that the ancient weapon Pluton was here. Eventually, they reached a secret chamber, containing nothing but a glowing metal sphere. Luffy, being who he is, immediately rushed forwards and touched it. Robin realized this was Pluton’s power source, but was too late to stop Luffy. All the energy in the sphere would cause a normal person to implode, but since Luffy was rubber, it simply caused him to shrink in size.
