Chapter #5

Bookbug

    by: MiraculousObsessed Author IconMail Icon
Megan Browns hadn’t expected anything to happen today. All the signs pointed to it being a rather normal day for her, she didn’t have any plans in mind which is why she had a book in her hand and found herself in her garden in the backyard. A few assortment of flowers were around, some of which she planted herself or bought from a store. She liked checking on her flowers a few times, it showed she was doing a pretty good job of taking care of something, just as long as she didn’t step on anything by accident.

After a few seconds of staring at the garden, Megan turned away and opened up her hardcover book to read in silence. She was about to make her way back towards her house when it happened. Something struck her out of nowhere and she fell.

That happened just about two minutes ago. Soon after, the back door of Megan’s house slid out and someone emerged out to the garden. “Hey Megan, are you here?” It was her friend, Natalie Veronica. Dressed in a black shirt with blue jeans and brown shoes, she walked into the backyard. “I hope you don’t mind, I let myself in. I wanted to hang out with you and make sure you’re not-“

She didn’t see her around. She figured that Megan would be sitting out here by herself with some book in hand to pass the time, not wanting to do much else for the time being. That’s why she came here to make sure she had company. But where else could she have gone to?

“Hey, Megan? You around?”

She was right to think Megan was here, because she was. In fact, Megan had just regained consciousness after being struck by something electic.

“Ow, what was that?” She stood on her feet, made sure her glasses were still on and noticed something was wrong. She was surrounded by gigantic blades of green sticking out of the earth, almost eclipsing the blue sky. She could see the underside of a nearby dandelion which tilted a bit like some kind of weak lamppost. “This…this doesn’t look right? What happened to me?”

She was confused though she got her answer when she heard something quite loud. “MEGAN, WHERE ARE YOU?!”

Megan’s brown eyes grew wide. Approaching her spot was a gigantic shoe, if she were to look up she’d see it belonged to her friend, Natalie. She was ginormous, almost the size of a goddess. In truth, Megan actually was super tiny, hit by a shrinking satellite from above. She was still in her backyard but now it became more like a forest. There wasn’t any sign of a way out and she didn’t know what to do. She just watched as the goddess Natalie’s shoes started moving to the sky, grazing the top of the grass with the slightest touch.

Megan concluded that she needed to get to Natalie, find a way to reverse this weird thing somehow. But how can she do that when she was rediculously small. Natalie had more power than her at this point. What would happen next?
