Blades and armor of bronze have been replaced by that of steal. The violence that ended the grand empires of old continues through the kingdoms of new. While seeing an anthro slave is unheard of in these kingdoms, a human on a leash or on a necklace is just another day. The restrictions of monogamy made human harems popular for anthros of all genders. Flawed practices of ancient human husbandry left their numbers few. Owning a human became a status symbol, living humans being worn to show wealth and power. The only way an anthro peasant can own one is to find one in the wild. Where humans hid well. Humans born to an anthro family are often considered property of the family and branded accordingly. Humans born to royal or noble families are often gifted to other anthro families as doweries or to foreign dignitaries.
