1) Animals do not gestate at the same rate that humans do; for instance, puppies grow from conception to birth in 9 weeks. She won't show for much of it, as the puppies grow slowly until their internal organs develop, about the 5th week.
2) No more than 8 puppies.
3) Carole Anne doesn't turn into a dog, nor does she acquire any physical traits of dogs. She might start acting like a dog in some ways, but not completely.
