Chapter #3Fiona Huggins by: BeeJay Ever since she found out where babies come from, Fiona Huggins wanted to get involved. She wanted to feel a baby moving inside of her. She wanted to experience labor.
Naturally, in her early teens, her parents took steps to prevent her getting pregnant too young. They wouldn't let her socialize with boys, or stray too far out of their sight. She'd grouse, but they put their feet down. But she was in college now, out from under their supervision; thus, she was free to go about getting pregnant.
At least, that's how she envisioned it. In reality, she had almost as much trouble finding a prospective baby daddy in college as she had back at home. It seemed like the guys who would make good father material didn't want to get anyone pregnant just yet, while the ones who didn't mind if they got a girl pregnant with no strings attached didn't seem like they'd be good fathers. It was a real Catch-22.
Thus, here it was, a late Friday afternoon early in her sophomore year, and she was in her dorm room; while her roommate, Bethany, was getting ready to go out on a date. It didn't seem fair.
Fiona was staring out the window as the sun began to set, wondering how many of the girls she saw would get pregnant with babies they didn't want, while she wanted a baby and couldn't find a guy to do it to save her life.
A new light caught her eye: The evening star. She smiled, remembering how she used to wish on the stars. "Star light, star bright," she said under her breath, "first star I see tonight." Even though she knew it was silly, she continued: "I wish I may, I wish I might, have the wish I wish tonight. I wish I could have a baby. I want to get pregnant and give birth, and I want to raise the baby."
Stepping away from the window, she watched some television until she got tired, then went to bed. She was fast asleep by the time Bethany got back.
******************************
Fiona's idle wish has come true, and she is now pregnant. The question is, what kind of pregnancy will she experience?
Normal pregnancy: Fiona won't find out for a month that she's going to have a baby. She will carry the baby for the next nine months, with the only unusual thing about her pregnancy being how she got that way.
Pregnant for a day: Fiona will awaken with the symptoms of the early stages of pregnancy. As the day progresses, the baby will develop more, until she gives birth that night.
Waking up six months pregnant: Fiona wakes up very obviously pregnant. She will carry the baby to term for the next three months.
Waking up nine months pregnant: Fiona wakes up ready to pop. She could give birth in just a few days... perhaps just a few hours... indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
