Paige Taylor --- You are an eighteen year old intern working for The Goliath Project, an NGO that monitors the Bureau of Giant Affairs and provides assistance to the Raptha people with their daily lives on their reservation
Stephen Fields -- The photos of the Cottingley Fairies were proven real, but contact with them is still elusive. The year is 1933 and you are 54 year old American anthropologist Dr. Stephen Fields. You're considered the world's leading expert on fairies. The Cottingley Fairies have even consented to speak with you on three different occasions (which is twice more than anyone else, besides the cousins who took the photos). But you aren't concerned with just the fairies. You're also worried about the rise of fascism in Europe. Could the fairies somehow be the key to defeating the Nazis before they really get started?
Sophie Washington -- Almost since humans landed on the shores of North America, they've been pushing the dominant hominid on the land, the wolf-like Lunips, further and further west. The year is 1836, and humans are firmly established to the West of Mississippi. You are Sophie Washington, an 18 year old escaped slave from Texas, making your way via the Underground Railroad to Canada. Well, you were making your way to Canada when you were almost intercepted by slave catchers. You got away, but were rescued/captured by a band of Lunips. Have you fallen out of the frying pan and into the fire?
John Hackman -- You are Detective Sergeant John Hackman, a 48 year old member of the Dallas police force. You've served with the Dallas Police for the last twenty years, after having served honorably in the Army since you graduated high school. You are the stereotypical tough cop who closes the tough cases. The year is 1988, and the nonhuman community is complaining about lack of representation on the police force. So you've been "saddled" with newly promoted 26 year old detective Mookda Yuthithum, a feline-like hominid (her people have the same fur patterns as Siamese cats) whose family migrated to America shortly after Mookda was born. It’s safe to say Mookda has a huge chip on her shoulder.
Walter Devlin -- You're a 27 years old anthropologist doing your post doctoral work at the University of Minnesota. You played nose guard on a scholarship in your undergraduate years and people still call you "The Swede" because of your size and your Nordic looks. You're heading to the Pacific Island of New Visby, to study the newly discovered hominid race being dubbed Homo Visby. They look like perfectly formed human beings, except for the fact that the men stand fourteen inches tall and the women only eleven inches tall.
