Jack Winters was reading and re-reading his acceptance letter with joy. His hard work, and dedication to his hobbies and community work had paid off. He was being offered a place at his first choice university. Best of all, he was getting a full scholarship to support him throughout his studies. Excitedly, he showed it to his parents who congratulated him.
Retreating to his bedroom to celebrate privately, with a little dance. He read the other pages of the letter. As he read on, he discovered the details of the scholarship program. It gave examples of those getting extensive nanite work to be better cheerleaders, or athletes.
Jack didn't really care, sure he could handle whatever was needed to qualify for the course, and pass it with ease.

As he finished reading it all, Jack was sure he'd mis-read something. His name was down for the cheerleader program. Smiling at the mistake and imagining it was a simple clerical error, he chuckled.
Nodding to himself, he read it again. This time, more slowly, and carefully. The meaning was still the same, even without the thrill of first excitement. Well, Jack had never paid much attention to his looks, and while attractive hadn't spared much time for a social life... Well, as his classmates considered it.
It was an unsettling and intriguing idea too. Just from the sheer alien-ness of the idea. The bimbo-fication was superficial, the letter assured him. He nodded to himself, that made sense, since why get someone for their intelligence and then reduce it.
Becoming more attractive wouldn't be a problem, and Jack didn't want to think of himself as sexist. Surely becoming a woman... even looking like a bimbo wasn't such a burden.

He'd already told his parents, celebrated. This was the only way he could afford to go!?! Jack thought of all the friends starting on their new lives. At this new stage in life would he stumble before he could properly embrace the opportunity.
