You wake up in a staff sleeping room after pulling a 10 hour shift. You have just assisted in performing a high risk heart surgery and were exhausted. Looking at your watch you realize that instead of taking a short hour long nap you slept a full 8 hours and no one came to get you. You panic and get up putting on your shoes and jacket thinking the moment you step out into the hall you're gonna be fired. Reaching for the door you suddenly get a gut retching feeling to not open the door. It's as if every cell in your body is telling you somethings wrong and you shouldn't go out there... not yet at least.
Feeling every hair stand on end at you stare at this wooden door you decide to leave the room and ignore your gut feeling.
You shake your head, and refuse to let your gut feeling stop you. You can't risk staying in here any longer and let your boss come in here and yell at you for sleeping on the job. You've gotta get out there and act like you were here the whole time.
Throwing open the door, you see dimly lit hallways, buzzing florescent lights, and empty corridors. The floor is barren, the nurses are missing, and everything is silent. The only sounds you can hear are the intermittent clicks and pops from the lights overhead and the air conditioning turning on.
Your first thought is, "Shit I'm in trouble". You never actually had a shift where the nurse would come in and get you or an announcement that you were supposed to wake up. As the gravity of the situation sinks in, your fear sets in, you feel your ass tighten against your underwear as you realize something happened here and you don't know what. What could of caused the hospital to be abandoned? What was happening right now?!
Walking out to the hall, you begin looking around, and start making your way back toward the main reception desk on this floor and find it is also abandoned. What should you do next?
