Though none of the patrons seemed to be paying any attention to you, you still were feeling a bit exposed in the open windowsill. All it would take is one grabby drunk to potentially be the end of you. Better to get further out of sight.
You quickly flutter up to the safety of the rafters, landing on a huge wooden support beam. Hidden in the shadows and several feet above even the tallest of the patrons below, you peer out to see the rest of the bar.
Directly below you, you see an explorer of some kind diligently studying some sort of scroll. From what you can see, she seems to be in her 30's and a bit on the heavier side, dressed in a long jacket and wide brimmed hat. You can gather based on her slightly darker skin and rust colored hair she likely was from some other region. Possibly here to uncover some lost treasure?
A bit further, your eyes catch the sight of a trio of bards on a small corner stage consisting of two humans and one catlike humanoid packing up after their set. The front woman, a tall, skinny woman in her 20's with black hair, seems exhausted by their performance but is still straining a smile when the occasional patron comes up to offer a few coins or a drink. The other human, a gangly red haired man about the same age as the woman seems similarly exhausted, and currently lies sprawled out on a wooden chair just off stage. However, despite being noticeably the smallest and likely youngest of the trio, the cream furred catlike bard seems to still have an abundance of energy as she lightly picks at the strings of her instrument as if ready to play another set.
As the band continues to pack up, you notice a small goblin server with short, messy brown hair walk up to the stage to pay them their fee. Though you had heard goblins could be rough or mischievous, as your eyes followed her from table to table you noted this one seemed to have a way with the customers, sweetly offering a second round to one guest before telling a dirty joke to great acclaim two tables over. She was also quite pretty for a goblin. Even the shabby, hand me down dress she wore worked to accentuate her petite frame - and large butt.
As you glance around the bar following the waitress, a pair of stairs suddenly catches your eye. The upper staircase seems well lit. Based on what little you can see, it seems to lead to a hallway with doors on both sides of the hall. "Likely an inn for travelers and over served patrons," you reason.
It's harder to get a feel for where the lower staircase leads, as it descends into darkness almost immediately. You had seen a few staff members bringing food and kegs up from down there, however, and the sound of crashing metal and muddled profanity would occasionally echo faintly up the stairs. Perhaps it was just the cellar? or maybe a hidden kitchen?
As you resume your scan of the room, another character catches your eye. In the darkened corner you can barely make out a small figure sitting alone in a tattered green cloak, their head hung down obscuring any and all telling features. The figure sat completely motionless except to occasionally lower their head towards their glass, taking a sip of the strange pink and green beverage in front of them. Though you found the figure somewhat terrifying, you also couldn't help but be fascinated by them. Why were they here if they were just going to avoid the other guests?
Though you were enjoying watching the scene down below, being so far from the action had begun to make you a bit restless.
"Surely I can get a little closer, right?" You whispered to yourself. "No one knows I'm here. As long as I stay unseen, it should be fine!"
Having convinced yourself, you turn your attention back to the patrons. What do you want to do?
