Jason thought it would be more difficult to sneak into the most dangerous criminal in Gotham's hideout but apparently not. The freaks that followed the Joker either weren't all that bright, mentally insane, or just so fed up with society that they wanted to see it all burn. Maybe "all of the above" for a couple of them? Either way, no one really batted an eye when another chick in white clown facepaint showed up to the abandoned amusement park at the end of the rotting pier. Sure, she was wearing the face of Joker's ex but no one paid her any real attention, the goons were just eyeballing her chest like she was a piece of meat. Was it Harley's new look that threw them off? The dress perhaps? Surely they knew who she was? They couldn't have forgotten about her already? Wait. Why would she care about who remembered Harley or not?
Jason didn't know where those thoughts were coming from. It spooked her a little as she reminded herself what Bruce said about her mind being strong enough to overpower Harley's will. Did that mean Harley was still on the inside somewhere in the recesses of her mind? That wasn't something worth worrying about right now.
She gave a smile to the guards as she entered an audience area filled with the Joker's followers. Punchline strutted out on stage and waved to them. "We want to see the Joker!" One of them shouted.
"Yeah! Bring on the big J!"
"People, people, you know Mister J hasn't been feeling so hot lately. As soon as he has recovered, we'll get back to raising hell in the streets, alright?"
Hearing the insane clowns call out for the Joker to make an appearance almost made Jason's heart sink. Were those Harley's emotions? Wasn't she supposed to be over the Joker? They broke up didn't they? Then why did Jason also feel a slight tinge of jealousy when she saw Punchline. That wasn't right—Jason hated the Joker. What was happening to her?
"Show us puddin' already!"
Jason shouted in Harley's high pitched jersey accent. The crowd turned to look at her. Punchline quickly spotted her and the henchmen shoved her out in front of the stage where the woman loomed over her.
"And who is this? Harley Quinn? You've got some nerve, blondie. Coming here after breaking the Joker's poor heart."
Jason frowned. She felt Harley's emotions which were making her behave irrationally. "Who do you think you are talking to me that way, Punching Bag?" Harley's voice seemed to speak on its own.
"Ooh. I see why he kept you around. You want to see Mister J again so bad? How's about we take you to him?"
Without another word, Punchline gave an affirmative nod to one of the hulking goons and he placed his hand on her shoulder. The modified joy buzzer he was wielding sent enough shock through her system to knock her lights out.
