Chapter #5Red Hood - Jason Todd, aka Enchantress by: MadameMystica The light dimmed. The dial gone. Jason frowned. What the hell was that all about?
"Brother Eye, what just-"
Jason's eyes shot open. He grabbed his throat. What was wrong with his voice? He touched his cheek with his now bare hand. Where was his mask? His helmet? He noticed emerald bracelets on his wrists. He tried to move the dark hair that kept falling in front of his eyes out of the way. He'd never let his hair get that long before. And why were his fingernails manicured...?
"Eye? Eye!"
The more he heard his own voice, the more he had to face the fact that he wasn't quite himself. Looking down, he gasped. Two orbs of flesh rested on his chest nestled in the tight green outfit he wore. He wrapped his hands around them, squeezing them and moving them around. To his horror, they were all too real. He felt every last movement and touch. The newfound sensitivity of his breasts sent signals to his brain he didn't understand.
"Am I a...."
He tugged at his new black and green costume. He ran his hands down his body, taking in the curves he now possessed. His palm glazed his crotch just slightly. He didn't feel anything down there. His worst fear had been realized. Whatever that dial did to him, it made him a chick.
Frantically, she looked for his reflection in a nearby window. She froze when she saw Enchantress standing there with a surprised look on her face. She didn't recognize the costume easily at first since she was the one wearing it. Jason reached out and touched her hand against the glass. The reflection did the same. This only confirmed what she was afraid of.
"Well, isn't this a surprise."
Jason jumped but couldn't retract her hand from the glass. As if some invisible force was keeping it there. Where'd that voice come from..?
"Right here, darling."
Jason turned to see her lips moving in the reflection despite her not speaking. She thought for a second and everything clicked.
"Enchantress...?"
"Now you're catching on."
She smirked.
"What... why? How?"
"You know as much as I do. One second I'm in Belle Reve, next I'm here with you as my host."
Enchantress shrugged.
"Hmmm... I never thought I'd have a male host but here we are. Not that anyone will ever be able to tell since you're in my form and I do plan on keeping it that way."
She removed Jason's hand from the window, exerting control over her motor functions. She walked back and forth in front of the window in a feminine manner, testing out her new host. She examined her curves and the details of her costume.
"Isn't this nice? I have so much more control with you. Body came out great too! Saves me the trouble of having to remake it from scratch."
"But don't you already have a host...?"
"Who, June? She was nice and all, but was always so damn stubborn. Don't indiscriminately kill people, she says. It'll be fun, she says."
She sighed, folding her arms and smiling at her reflection.
"Maybe it's about time I got a new host? And since you so generously went out of your way to curse yourself with me, who better than you?"
Enchantress laughed.
"Huh? No, this was an accident! Hey! Stop!"
Jason fought back, taking control of her body.
"Oooh, so you are a fighter. Honestly, I'm glad. This would be so boring if you just rolled over, y'know?"
"Stop! How do I change back?"
"As if I'd tell you even if I knew how you accomplished this in the first place. Enjoy the new look, sweetie. Get used to that face. It's yours now."
Enchantress forced Jason to smile into her reflection, which she turned away from.
"Okay... I can fix this... I just need a plan..." she muttered.
Her gear was gone. There was no using Brother Eye to contact Batman. She had two options. She could either try to find him herself somewhere in Gotham or she could return to the Batcave and try to explain everything.
"Good luck doing any of that when the world thinks you're Enchantress. I'm not sure what will become of lil' June, but they'll notice I'm missing. You're a wanted woman now."
"Shut up!"
"How does it feel not being a man all of a sudden? It's gotta be a blow to your ego, I'm sure."
"I said shut up!"
Her face turned red.
"Aw. I'm just teasing! It'll be alright. At least you're me now so you're not some feeble weak mortal woman. Could be worse, right?"
"Just... go away! Go back to June!"
"Doesn't work like that, lil' Jay. I'm in your head now. I know everything about you. And I'm not going anywhere. Sustainable hosts are so hard to come by these days. Besides, why would I leave when you invited me in?"
"As soon as I find that dial, I'm getting rid of your ass."
"The dial..? You used a dial...? Hah! You're even more naive than I thought."
"Yeah, I messed with a dial! It fell from the sky or some shit. What do you know about it?"
"The dials are magic. Real potent stuff, too. Chaotic in nature. They change the user's form into another, the dialer inheriting all the powers and physical characteristics of a random person in the drawing. Spinning a dial is like playing Russian Roulette. Lemme guess, you span the villain one? Like an idiot?"
Jason didn't know what to say to that. Wait a second.
"8-4-5-5-2-4-6 was the number I span..."
"Those numbers stand for villain you imbecile. And you're supposed to be a detective or something? Now that we've established you're incredibly daft, can we have some fun now?"
What does Jason do? indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
