We are blinded by a bright light as a bang sounds through the room. A tingling feeling spreads through my body, disorienting me. Once the light dies down, my eyesight comes into focus. I look around to see a strange hilly environment. The soft landscape has blue and white stripes, just like the blanket on my bed. Rachel looks over at me, "Did we just..."
"Shrink? Yes we did." I examine the strange environment around us. The inverter seems to have completely disappeared. I walk to the edge of the bed and look down. The floor looks like it is a good 25 feet away. Rachel's now giant phone lays face down over by my pillows.
"So...What do we do now." Rachel does not sound too concerned, given our predicament.
"I was just trying to think of the best plan of action." I say, glancing back at Rachel's phone. "Perhaps it would be best if we could call my grandpa. He is the only one who could help us." I walk towards the phone and Rachel follows. "Can you help me flip this?"
At our tiny size the phone is practically the size of a billboard. We each go to opposing corners on the long side of the phone. On the count of three we attempt to flip it over. The phone is heavier than I was expecting and we are barely able to lift it, let alone flip it. After a couple of failed attempts I murmur, "Dang it, I guess we need another idea."
As I lean against the phone, thinking of what to do next, my sister Cali's voice calls from the hall. "Jake? Are you in your room?" I can hear her friends giggling about something.
"I'm not sure if it's a good idea to let Cali find us at this size." I grab Rachel's had and pull her behind my pillows. I can see the door from my advantage point.
The door knob twists and Cali comes in. "Oh, he's not in here. I guess he must have left." Kelsey and Josh follow her into Jake's room.
"Now Kelsey can't do her dare and kiss Jake," Josh states.
I feel my checks getting red. Rachel turns to me with a grin and whispers, "Looks like someone has a crush on you."
"That's okay," Cali says, "I have another one. I dare you to...
