Chapter #3

Hungry Giants

    by: TinyEthan13 Author IconMail Icon
I am standing in front of the fridge which now towers over me like some monstrous building. I had been going to get a soda right before I accidentally shrank myself. Underneath the fridge I can see a thick layer of dust; along with a random assortment of forgot items including a battery, a pen, and a lip stick. Suddenly a spider came crawling towards me. It is monstrous like the spiders out of Harry Potter. I don't like them when they are way smaller than me, let alone as big as me.

I can feel my heart pound as I run the other way. I don't look back as speed past the legs of the bar stools. My little sister's skate shoes are also under the bar. They are big enough to squash both me and the spider at the same time.

Once I get to the other end of the kitchen I decide to climb up into the pot with the fern. It has ridges on it which allow me to reach the soft soil in no time. I finally look back to see where the spider was. I am happy to see that it had not followed me.

I look up at the house plant which reaches up all the way to the countertop. The ground is a very unsafe place for someone my size, the spider and the shoe were proof of that. I will have a better chance of getting noticed up on the counter. Also that is where I set the inverter before I shrank.

Before I climb up, I realize I need to pee and take the opportunity to relieve myself. Feeling much better I pull myself up with ease onto the plant's stocky branches. I hop from branch to branch up to the countertop. In front of me is a giant toaster, next to which sits a loaf of bread big enough for me to build a house inside it. I continue to walk through the strange world of large appliances and huge food items such as a bunch of bananas. Just as I am approaching the inverter, the kitchen door swings open; Cali and her two friends walk in with a box of pizza. To me they look like giants. Not wanting to be seen by Cali's friends, I quickly duck behind the dish drain and stand on the plush surface of a kitchen towel.

I hear Cali open the fridge, followed by a pop and fizzle sound from soda being opened. "Oh, shoot." Cali booms. "I should not have opened it so fast." I see my giant sister come over to the sink and get a sponge wet. She walks away for a second. Then before I can react her massive hand grabs onto the towel, pulling it and me quickly into the air. Out of instinct I grab on. I hold tight for a second, but suddenly lose my grip. Out of shock I do not yell as I fall downwards. To afraid to look I close my eyes. Suddenly I land with a...
