"Okay," I say, "I'll do it." As always curiosity has gotten the better of me. It is probably a really dumb idea to use the device on my self. Who knew what effects it might have on my body. I set the device to shrink me down to about an inch tall. I hand it to Jake and show him how to use the shrink ray.
"Ready?" he asks. I nod. "Three, two, one." Jake pushes the button. A second later the beam of light shoots out and hits my bare arm. My skin becomes tingly and then Jake seems to be getting bigger. At the same time my clothes become lose. I am surprised, because I was expecting them to shrink with me. Now I am completely covered by a tent of fabric from my former clothes. "Ethan are you okay?" I hear my friend boom. Everything shifts around me as my clothes are picking up. I slide out of my giant underwear and land with a soft thud on the carpet. Two massive feet stand in front of me. I look up to see Jake towering over me like a skyscraper.
He bends down and lays on his stomach on the floor to get a better look at me. "Dude, no way. This is so cool," Jake booms. I am little self conscious being butt naked in front of my friend. "How do you feel?"
"It is a bit drafty, but other than that I feel perfect fine," I respond.
He laughs, "Your so small, I don't even think my sister's old Polly Pocket stuff would fit you." Jake reaches out two of his finger, which are bigger than me, and gently picks me up. "Ever since I saw that old movie Indian in the Cupboard, I have thought it would be cool to have a tiny person as a pet, you don't mind if I keep you like this for a while?"
I'm not sure how I feel about being my best friend's pet, but I did agree to let him shrink me. Before I can respond...
