To avoid getting sat or stepped on, I decide to climb up to the desk where I could get someone's attention. There is a metal pole that connects the chair to the desk. I walk over to it and begin to climb. The metal is slick, so I have to crawl up, straddling the pole to avoid slipping. As I near the top, I can see gum that people have stuck to the bottom of the desk. It looks like some strange colorful rock formation.
Just before I make it to the desk, a shadow looms over me. I look back to see the giant figure of Bailey. She is tall normally, and now she towers over me. Her slender legs are shown off by her cheer uniform, which is just a little too short. Bailey sits down, causing the desk to shake. I almost lose my balance.
"I just thought of another one." I look up to see Roxy, one of the cheerleaders, talking to Bailey. "I dare you to get gum from under the desk, chew on it three times, and then swallow it."
"Ugg, you always think of the gross ones. Hopefully, I will get a piece that was chewed by Ryan. I think he sits in this spot next period," Bailey says with a mischievous grin. Her colossal hand comes close to me as she pries off the bright blue gum. I watch in disgust as she pops it into her mouth. After chewing on it, she swallows, sticking out her tongue to show Roxy that is was gone.
"I can't believe you did that," Roxy says.
"I'm not afraid of germs, but I am thinking of a good dare to get back at you with," Bailey says mischievously.
The final bell rings out loudly. Everyone stops talking, and Mrs. Parks starts the lesson. I'm not sure if I should get Bailey's attention. Since I don't know her very well, I don't know how she will react. Also, Maddie and Megan are in this class later today. It might be better to wait for them. Before I can decide, Bailey lets out a forceful sneeze. The gust of wet wind from her nose blows past me, causing me to lose my balance. I fall and land...
