It's been 10,000 years since the first of the mutants emerged from their long slumber. Dr. Straude's experiment has proven more of a success than expected. The original mutants and their descendants have managed to rebuild the world. Earth finally knows true peace.
The mutants have created their own society, with the entire planet united as a single nation. Their ruling body is known as the Earth Council, consisting of a wide range of different species, so as to prevent one mutant from holding too much power.
Technologically, the mutants have advanced far beyond what humans could have dreamed of. Aside from advancements in medicine, transportation and entertainments, their biggest advancements have been in space travel. In addition to creating an array of space stations, they have also managed to establish large colonies on the moon, as well as a few other planets.
The average lifespan for the mutants ranges from 200 to 300 years, even a little longer than that. In regards to food, herbivores still eat plants and vegetables, though carnivores have been farming many of the non sentient creatures that were left behind in the wake of mankind's extinction. Socially, there is no discrimination or hatred towards different species. Not even towards interspecies couples.
A special event known as the Festival of the New Dawn is approaching, making the day the first mutants, known as the Beginners, woke from their century long slumber and began to build their new society. Mutants everywhere would celebrate for an whole week.
