It had been a few days since Alm and his friends left Ram Village to join the Deliverance, they hadn't seen much combat, a few brigands here and there, the only real challenge the boy could think off was their last battle at the Thieves' Shrine where they had found a kidnapped priestess.
This had been the first time they faced a real challenge, the number of bandits that swarmed over them almost overwhelmed the group, which made sense since it was a bandit lair, but they had managed to prevail, maybe that was a sign he and his friends were destined to leave their little village? Or maybe it was just proof Lukas was a really competent soldier, he couldn't tell.
At the moment he just stood in the middle of the shrine, looking at a statue of Mother Milla, carved in stone and standing proud, covered by illustrations of vegetation, he wondered what had happened to the goddess, why had she abandoned her followers? Why were the lands of Zofia bare and unfit to grow anything?
"Sir Alm?" he could feel a hand touching his shoulder, putting an end to his wondering, he didn't need to turn to see who it was, only the priestess had been so formal with him.
"Uh Silque, right?" Alm asked, feeling guilty for his shortsighted memory, they had rescued her but the priestess had offer to heal their wounds, after such a kind act the least he could do was remember her name.
"That's right sir" the blue haired girl nodded, "Your companions have informed me you're all from Ram Village, is that right?"
"That's correct" he answered, "Did Gray and Tobin say something inappropriate? If that's the case I assure the rest of the village is not like them"
"Oh?" Silque arched an eyebrow at the question, but quickly followed that by shaking her head, "That's not the case sir, I just asked your friends if they knew the village's location, I needed to go there to find someone, a man named Mycen"
"Mycen?" Alm's eyes grew as he heard his grandfather's name, first Lukas and now a priestess? Why would she be looking for him, was she part of the Deliverance? "He's my grandfather"
"I'm aware of that, may I see your left hand?" she asked as she extended her own hand, Alm looked at said hand for a moment, unsure why she would ask this, but since she had shown no malice towards them he complied with her order, placing said hand on palm, "The mark" Silque mumbled as she placed a finger in his hand, circling around his mark, "I see...so you really are the one-"
"The one? What are you talking about?"
"Sir Alm" she said, letting go of his hand as she started searching for something on her satchel, something she proceeded to place in Alm's palm "Here, please take this"
Alm looked at the object, a metallic object that resembled a pendant, it had a decorative light blue line in the shape of a circle, and inside it he could see gears and a fleur-de-lis, "What is this?"
"It's Mila's Turnwheel, a relic that contains the Earth Mother's power, I believe it would be of great use to you"
"Are you sure? Didn't you say you wanted to see my grandfather, shouldn't you give it to him?"
Silque shook her head, "No, the Turnwheel would be a vital tool for the trials to come Sir Alm, you will need it to end your journey"
"I see..." Alm mumbled, his drifting back to the relic, how was this thing going to help him? Would it give him god-like powers to drive back the Rigelians? "I really appreciate your help Silque, and I promise to look after it but what's it supposed to do, how do I use it?"
"You don't use it, it uses you, when the times right the Turnwheel will give you a sign"
"A sign? I don't think-" Alm's words were stopped when he noticed the Turnwheel started glowing, getting more and more bright by the moment, to the point that the dimly lit shrine was now practically shinning, "W-what's going? What's wrong with the Turnwheel?"
After Alm asked that, he started to feel the floor behind him shaking, small fragments of rocks started to fall off the walls and cracks started to shown on the many statues filling the shrine, "It appears like Mother Mila wishes to show you something!"
"Show me something? The place is about to collapse!" Alm yelled in response, but as soon as he said that, the glowing became so intense that he couldn't see anything, couldn't hear anything, nor feel anything.
---
When Alm's vision returned, be couldn't see the glowing Turnwheel, he was once again surrounded by darkness, with the only visible light being that of the moon, illuminating some crumbled stone walls.
"The moon?" he thought as he looked at the dark sky, spotting a full moon and a starry night, but how was this possible, had they really spend so much time inside the cave? And why could he see this, had the shrine collapsed? If so why was he alive, and where were his friends?
The many questions filling his head became less relevant when he managed to spot something on the upper part of his field of view, hanging slightly above his eyes he could see a few strands of hair, not exactly an uncommon sight to him except he didn't remember having bangs, he barely paid attention to his hairstyle, but despite the lack of light he could notice something, these bangs were well cut and were of...a reddish color.
"That's weird, what happened to my hair?" he asked as he took a hand to the foreign bangs, quickly noticing they were indeed attached to his scalp, this action made him noticed another two things that weren't right, his hand, formerly clad in a blue gauntlet was now warped in a black fingerless glove with a white back, and his voice sounded odd, soft and feminine.
It didn't took long for the boy to notice another oddity, he could feel hair, long locks of hair touching exposed skin, looking down he confirmed what his theory when he saw two stands of red hair resting on his shoulders, or what should be his shoulders since it was clear this wasn't his...body.
The body he saw when he looked down wasn't his own, it was that of a girl, clad in a white dress with detached sleeves, with golden details around the bodice and stomach, on the lower part he could see a short black skirt and below it a pair of thigh high white boots.
Alm's eyes grew wide as he looked at that attire, he could feel cold sweat running down his brow has he moved those gloves hands, how he could flex those fingers, how he could feel that white cloth wrapped around his torso and how...how his chest felt heavier.
"Uhh..." his eyes shifted to the source of that feeling, the new weight on his chest, breasts, with curiosity getting the better of him the boy took his hand to that spot and heaved the mounds up and down, feeling his face getting red as he realised how...sensitive he felt in that area.
With embarrassment eating him inside, he let go of the mounds, crossing his arms as he took a moment to think about the situation, a moment ago he had been talked with the prisoner he had rescued, she gave him that odd Turnwheel that started glowing and then he found himself here, in an unknown place in a body that was most definitely not his own.
"Celica? Is that you?" someone behind him asked.
Alm froze, not because of the breeze hitting his body but because he had head that name, the one of the girl he promised to see again, the girl that would wait for him, then it hit him, that long hair, that voice, he...he had somehow end in Celica's body.
He turned around to see who had called him by that name, if he wasn't alone maybe someone could explain what was going on, but when he tried to do that, Alm almost fell to the ground, barely avoiding painfully kissing the floor with his bare face by stopping his fall with his hands, letting out a sigh the boy got back up, and found himself looking at a girl with pink twin-tails.
"Who are you?" he asked as he examined her, he had never seen her before, she didn't seem like a villager, if anything with those clean pink robe she was wearing he assumed she had to be some sort of mage.
"Who am I?" the girl repeated, placed her hand on her hips, glaring at him she answered...
