Chapter #5

Clarine

    by: AlexNotTheOne Author IconMail Icon
Rutger had come to appreciate his time in Roy's army, it gave him exactly what he wanted, a chance to get his revenge, a chance of fighting Bern, and that was what his life had become, unsheathing his sword just to kill, the true path of the sword.

But some members of the army had make him question his desire for revenge, that he could follow a different path, even have a peaceful life after the war ended.

"There you are!" that annoying voice, she had come back to haunt him yet again, there were many people that had made him rethink his way of life, Clarine wasn't one of them.

"Leave me alone" he bluntly said as he walked away, she insisted on going after him.

"How can you be so rude with a lady?!" she shouted, she ran up to him, blocking his path, "I had been nothing but kind to you! And you have repaid me with rudeness!"

"That's it?" he asked, annoyed by her presence.

She seemed to think about it for a moment until she yelled again, "Yes!"

Rutger grunted in response, scanning the girl, he noticed her eyes were teary, for a moment he stop, wondering if he had make her feel like that, feeling he should apologize for his bluntness but when he was about to do it, he saw it.

Clarine was carrying a book with her, a tome that emanated evil, or at least that's what he thought, it's dark appearance reminded him of tales he had heard as child, back when his tribe existed, stories of evil books that were able to cause a great deal of grief to it's users.

"Where did you get that?" he pointed at the tome.

"This thing? I found it after last battle, I was going to show it to General Cecilia and see what it does" she said, extending her hands and showing him the book.

"Throw it away" he scowled at the artifact, wanting to see it less than he wanted to see Clarine.

"What?! Aren't you tired of being so rude?!" she was outraged by his comment, discrediting her abilities, "You think I won't be able use it? I let you know that I'm the daughter of a great mage, and I'm talented enough to cast any spell! I will show you!" she opened the book and started chanting something.

Rutger's eyes went wide open, "No, wait!" he tried to get the book off her hands but it was useless, a bright light came from the book, quickly covering both of them as he fell unconscious to the ground.

-----

When Rutger woke up he felt something wasn't right, hair was falling on his face, that wasn't exactly weird for him but what surprised him was the color, blond.

"Ugh stupid girl" he grunted, thinking her spell had made him look even less Sacaen, but he noticed his voice had changed, high pitched and whinny.

He froze in place as he had a tought, fearing what the spell had done, he got up, needing to see if he was right.

When he got up he noticed how lithe his body felt now, not even an ounce of muscle in his arms, that were now scrawny twigs, what he was wearing just made him want to throw up, a troubadour outfit, pink and purple with small golden details, a short white cape slightly reached his elbows, a short frilly skirt left exposed a bit of thighs that were mostly covered by long white boots.

Rutger had a slight blush as he noticed the body below the clothes was clearly female, the perky breasts on his chest giving it away, the skirt made him notice the lack of something on his groin and a small weigh on his head made him realise that his now blond hair was styled as a ponytail.

He had became Clarine, the annoying girl he had saved, if the changes on his body didn't convinced him, the presence of his own unconscious body was more than enough to do it.

"I told you to throw the book away" he gritted his teeth as he berated the unconscious Clarine.
