Melona's eyes snapped open and she stared at the ceiling. Did she just hear something?
More
She sat up and looked around the room. "Hello?" Nothing but silence responded. She stood up. "Look, if you're trying to play a prank on me, I don't find it funny."
Do what I command. Give me more.
Melona tried to slow her rushing heart. The voice sounded like her own voice, but deeper and more echoing, and that phrase sounded oddly familiar. Melona tried to think of something to say.
"More what?" Nothing. Evidently the voice had stopped with its requests. "Okay, well, if you ever feel like elaborating, let me know. I'm not really powerful or anything, but--" Melona realized that she was talking to an empty room. Nothing good started with something like that. She took a deep breath. "Gods, keep it together, Mel." She took a look at the clock. It was early enough for her to get to the cafeteria and grab some breakfast.
