Jess was the one that you had seen in your dream, so of course, you were going to attempt to make her grow first. You admired her impressive size and physique from afar as she started shooting some baskets on your side of the court. As she worked on her three-point shot, you began to wonder how you could make her grow exactly. The dream was a bit stingy on how to use your new powers. Was it a verbal command? Or did you have to point your hands like you were casting a spell? Too deep in thought, you didn’t notice Jess’s shot ricochet off the rim and head straight in your direction. “Head’s up!” She yelled.
You snapped out of it quickly but it was no use. The ball struck you pretty hard in the arm. “Oww fuck.” You muttered under your breath as you massaged your arm. Apparently, the entire team had watched this happen, and they all began to laugh at you. Jess did her best not to laugh as she made her way over to you. “You okay?” She asked. “Yeah, I am alright. My fault for not paying attention.” You replied laughing. Jess smiled awkwardly as the silence between you grew. You dumbfoundedly stared back at her. “Uh, a little help?” She asked motioning to the ball in your lap. “Oh right. Sorry about that.” You apologized passing the ball back to her. “Thanks.” She responded as she headed back to the court. You heard a few girls snicker around you. Your face turned bright red in embarrassment.
The girls went into working defensive drills with the coaches. Jess was guarding against the redhead Dana, the next tallest girl on the team at 6’1”. It looked as though Dana had quite the challenge trying to get around her taller teammate. You wanted it to be even more difficult for her. You pictured Jess growing taller in the middle of the play. Amongst the frenzy, you swore that you noticed Jess looked even taller next to Dana. No one else seemed to notice this but you. Jess didn’t even seem to stumble as she moved. If you had to guess, Jess looked like she gained two more inches and was about 6’8”. You wanted her to get even bigger though. Once again you focused on Jess being taller. Her body stretched higher as Dana received a pass from another teammate. She quickly turned to take a shot, but was easily stuffed by the incredibly long arms of the now taller Jess! Her team cheered for her impressive block.
Jess was now 7’ tall! This was amazing. You made her 6” taller than she was original. The interesting thing though was no one seemed to be freaked out by this. Also, her clothes still looked normal on her body and not shrunken. Perhaps when you made changes, reality transformed as well to reflect what you had done. You pulled out your phone and looked at the team’s roster to confirm your theory. Sure enough, Jess’s stats listed her as being 7’ tall! Incredible. The lineups traded places and now Jess was on offense. Dana looked more winded now facing her now taller colleague. Quickly you focused on growing Jess again. She shot up abruptly another 6” as the ball was thrown to her. The 7’6” Jess aggressively headed for the basket, knocking Dana over, as she went for an impressive slam dunk that she made look effortless. Everyone in the building cheered her on. Still being a good teammate, Jess turned around to Dana and offered a hand to help her up. Dana's smaller hand reached up and Jess lifted the girl easily to her feet. The girls got back into formation to run the play again.
The star player was a real standout now that she was a full foot taller than she was moments ago. Your mind raced with ideas. What should you do next?
