"This is a bad idea," you reminded Townsend, but he was too distracted to care.
"Awesome!" he gasped as he rounded the corner.
You had to agree. The train set you saw when you followed was immensely impressive. You'd seen something of this like before, but never with this level of fine, acute detail; the train itself was red, with golden lines on it. You were too big to go inside any of the carriages, but they each had windows and inside those windows, tiny seats were visible. It was operational, too, with the train on a loop all around the living room, going at a gentle speed. There was what looked like a little station, just the right size for you, as well.
"Nice," you said. "Now let's go." You made to tug at Townsend's arm but he was already gone, heading out into the middle of the room and towards the track.
"Townsend!" you called out, panicking, hating the idea of him being out in the open like this. This was so irresponsible. You sighed and sprinted after him, but he was already climbing on the station.
"Want to go for a ride?" he asked with a smirk, and just as you got to the station, he leapt off, landing on top of the train. It was going slow, making the jump fairly easy, but Townsend impressively landed right on his feet, "surfing" the train. You watched, shaking your head.
"We need to go!" you called out. "This is stupid!"
"Alright, alright," he said breathlessly as he passed. "Do one loop with me, then we'll head out."
You rolled your eyes. "Fine," you said, and climbed up the station. You timed your leap, landing right behind Townsend.
The feeling of being carried along by the train was a thrilling one, you had to admit. The air whipping you as you passed, the excitement, it was all great. The fear of being caught made it all the more exciting.
"OK, this is pretty cool-whoa," you said suddenly.
The train had begun to pick up speed around halfway through the loop, and the acceleration did not stop. It hit the next corner and you nearly lost balance, dropping into a crouch to try and maintain a centre of gravity.
"We need to get off this thing now!" you called out, but it was too late - the train had already hit the next corner. You were thrown off, screaming as you flew through the air!
