"I thought I had my life figured out" he said. But I guess I'd want a taste of that life back. Engaged, happy, ready to create a life. Maybe its time for a new life."
The realtor just smiled," I think this house can do this for you."
A week later Tom was moving into the house. At first, everything seemed normal. He was even trying some dating apps, but nothing much was coming from them. Then, one night, he invited a new friend over. Henry, they had met playing basketball and hit it off. They were going to watch a game on TV that night.
Henry arrived with some beer, and they sat down to watch the game and eat some pizza Tom had cooked.
"Question for you Henry, think I might know where to find someone decent to meet, you know, go out with?"
Henry laughed. "If I knew the answer to that, I'd probably be at home with her right now. You know, when it works, it works. I haven't found anyone that it works with yet."
"I guess," Tom said. "I wish it could be easier, but it is what it is."
"Who knows, maybe one day you'll wake up, and it will all work out."
The game ran late and Henry had had one too many beers. "Stay in the guest room tonight, you can head out in the morning." Henry agreed. The bed was nice, he fell alseep fairly fast in the room.
