Chapter #4Uni by: Jax   Chloe had just started her second year and had just had a huge celebration for her 20th birthday back at her hometown. Today she was moving in to her new apartment and meeting her new roommate. The university always provide on campus accommodation for all its students,but they must all be paired with roommates that way there was enough room for everyone.
This was fine however cause the apartments were huge having 2 giant bedrooms, a massive open space living room with a state of the art education monitor and grand kitchen on top of all that. There was a reason for these amazing apartments for the students however and this was because most students now did there course from there apartments, the university had invested millions in to new services which allowed students to attend lecture from there apartment via education monitors which allowed them to stream lectures when the occurred and submitted any work online.
Usually you meet your roommate for the next for years in your first year but chloes old roommate actually dropped out to become a hairdresser for her family business so on her second year chloe was left without one, this was quickly solve by the university however as tons of people drop out on there first year so it was easy to find a new apparent and roommate to move her in with.
This brings us to today. With Chloes birthday being so close to the start of the academic year meant that she had missed move in day to celebrate back home with her friends and family so she was actually moving in a week late. This meant her new roommate had already moved in and Chloe hadn’t even met her yet.
As Chloe opened the door and was introduced with who she was spending the next 3 years with she was utterly shocked.
Her name was Debbie and she must have been the complete opposite of Chloe. For starters she had short black hair and dressed like she had never seen a fashion magazine in her life. The next and probably most obvious thing was that she was fat, like really fat. She was sat down when Chloe first saw her, chomping down on a pizza with her gut spilling out in her lap.
The 2 explained pleasantries and the Chloe proceeded to move her stuff in to her room, feeling a little sickened that she had to spend 3 years with this fatso.
After a few weeks of living with each other, the 2 got to know each other a lot better.
Chloe found out that Debbie was a huge nerd always either studying, doing homework or playing video games. The next thing she learnt was that Debbie didn’t have many real world friends, sure she talked to people online but Chloe swore she never left the apartment. And finally she learnt the reason why Debbie was so fat. This girl ate a lot. She constantly kept the cupboards stocked with goodies and snacks thanks to a weekly recurring order with Tesco and then there was the sheer amount of fast food and desserts she ordered, this girl was always eating something. Chloe didn’t mind this last part however because as-long as she is paying for the food chloe didn’t have to and could save her cash for parties.
Next was what Debbie learnt about Chloe. She found that Chloe was a huge slacker only doing the bare minimum of uni work. Next was that she had a serious shopping addiction always buying new cloths. Next was that Chloe was kinda a bitch always laughing at peoples insecurities on social media, especially tiktok. And finally that Chloe was a major party girl and a bit of a slag, going out every night and always bringing a guy home with her. However, like Chloe, Debbie didn’t mind this last part as it meant she always had the apartment to herself, Chloe was always out all night and was always in her room all day hungover, this meant Debbie was practically living alone and she loved it she could play as much games as she wanted and no one would care. In fact the only issue she had with Chloe was she was a bit obnoxious and full of herself and always frowned at Debbie about her weight but Debbie didn’t really care so all was good for her and she wanted nothing to change.
Chloe even started to like Debbie, at first she just thought of her as a fat slob who was unpleasant to live with but that all change the first week when lessons started.
See for the first 3 weeks chloe had been out every night loving life and Debbie had been at home loving life. The two never really saw each other and that was just how they liked it, sure Chloe didn’t like living with her but at least she didn’t come out with her and cramp her style.
But after them 3 weeks classes started and Chloe was forced to stop going out as much. Sure she still went out at weekends but during the week she had to stay in. See this year she had to do well as she barely made it through her first year because of going out to much and never doing work so this year she was on her last warning. So even though she hated it she had to stay in and study. This started to annoy Debbie though, as since Chloe was no longer out all the time she no longer had the tv all to herself or the apartment and both the girls got on each other’s nerves. And that’s when Debbie had an idea, see Debbie actually liked doing uni work and more importantly liked being on her own and she would do anything to get that back and that’s when she had an idea.
Chloe was only on a very low tier course and it was something Debbie had already studied before so Debbie came up great plan.
She would do chloes work for her as it would only be a bit extra work on a subject she was already familiar in and in return chloe makes sure to go out every night have fun but more importantly leave her alone in the apartment.
“Are you serious, omg this is amazing you are an absolute legend for doing this. Omg you are the best roommate ever, so I can actually go out with all my friends every day and you will do my entire uni course and the only thing you want in return is that I stay in my room all day and at night i stay out partying and if I hook up with anyone make sure to go back to his and not ours. This is amazing are you sure?”
“Yeah of course I already know loads on your subject so it won’t be that difficult to do on top of my own, plus all I really want is just to play my games all night in peace.”
“You are a life saver. This is amazing”
“One other thing you can’t tell anyone because if we get caught we will both be kicked out for cheating.”
“Yeah yeah totally, cool. Right I’m gonna go get ready for tonight, I heard there’s a huge frat party eeee” Chloe screamed.
Debbie just smiled and went back to her sofa.
And this was the start of a beautiful friendship.  indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
