Turn around and try to back track

Not liking the situation you found yourself in, you turn around and tried to get out of the cave from where you came.

You were frightened and didnt pay too much attention on where you were going trying to get away from whatever was heading your way that you found yourself slipping on one of the more narrow paths and start to slide down into the dark abbyss, you lost your torch and watch it fall before you as you tried to grab onto the ledge to no avail, slipping and sliding deeper into the chasm, screaming as you kept falling deeper into the cave.

As you fell, you could still see the light of the torch that managed to stay alight, but it was pretty far away still, and you could not see where it had landed, not well enough anyway.

But it didn't matter as you were right at the edge of the slippery slope, and were about to fall off.

You manage to turn and grab ahold of a stone right before flying off and into the darker part of the cave, having fallen so far to the point of not even hearing what was back up where you fell from, not that you could even see up there.

you found yourself dangling over the edge, holding onto dear life as you look down and saw that instead of pure blackness, you actually see something glowing below you... it looked rather green and blue in color, almost like water, but it didnt act like water.

Your torch was on a rock in the middle of the lake of strange liquid, but it was too far away for you to swing over to, not with out falling into the stuff first, but you don't know if you could pull yourself up yet.
