All the breath Mei has in her body is consumed in this desperate scream; her last sound before her eternal silence. Bliss's pink paw is about to cover and crush her completely when, a few fractions of an inch away, it comes to a complete stop.
"Doesn't hydrogen peroxide solve every-" Bliss pauses in both speaking and moving, leaving her left paw hanging. "Everything ok Bliss?" Joy asks surprised by the Pokemon's sudden reaction. "Yes... I think I heard a noise, it seemed a scream." "A scream?" "Yes and from below," they say to each other and intrigued, they act accordingly. Bliss thus decides not to place her paw on the ground, but to step back, allowing her and Joy to see the floor. They are both surprised to see Mei, lying on the ground, with her mouth wide open and completely pale. "Oh, hello Miss Mei" Bliss says surprised but tries to regain her composure "I didn't crush you did I?" "No Bliss, she is still in one piece but it was close" sighs Joy "Mei, you know well that you can't go to hallway alone at night and without Kitsu."
Of the two, the most disappointed and angry is Joy, while Bliss is only worried and embarrassed. Mei recovers and knows full well that escape is no longer possible. If Kitsu found out what she was trying to do, her reaction would be far worse than being crushed by Bliss. Mei then knows that the only thing to do is to lie and try to appease the pink couple.
"Oh... Oh yes. I just felt very hot... and I wanted to stay in the corridor for a while, alone. But with all this cold, I think I feel a little sick" she says and feigns a cough. "Oh Arceus, we need to get her to the infirmary immediately!" Bliss exclaims and grabs Mei, bringing her up to her face to see her better. Joy, on the other hand, stares at Mei and knows that she is lying and that if Kitsu knew about this "little trip", there would be trouble for everyone.
In the end, Joy thinks about her and sighs again "Yes Bliss, let's take her to the infirmary to treat her... And let's remember to warn Kitsu that Mei is with us, so she won't get upset" "Ok!" Bliss replies joyfully and, holding Mei close to her sof bell, she immediately runs to the infirmary.
Mei is covered by some rag, she rests on a pile of cotton and on her head they have put a wet piece of paper. Joy stands by her side with a thimble filled with what appears to be hot broth and monitors the situation. Meanwhile, in the background, Bliss is going back and forth putting medicines, revitalizers and other stuff in order.
"Mei, you know you took a risk today right?" Mei looks at her and nods a little "You still can't accept the situation... This makes it worse for you and for everyone." "You're lucky, you have Bliss" responds Mei "No, I simply understood my place and maybe you should also understand it. However, we won't say anything to Kitsu, she won't suspect anything, but please Mei" Joy says putting a hand on her shoulder "Stop it."
Mei remains impassive and closes her eyes. She feels very tired and therefore falls asleep. Her last thought before sleeping is of her boyfriend Pyrch.
