Here are a few story ideas for this background.
1) While his genes were meant to activate when he became an adult, his exposure to the Omnitrix jump-started them. Unfortunately for her, Gwen is the only female around, leading her to become Ben's main target after gaining his new dominant persona.
2) Ben's alien genes activate when he first gets a girlfriend. So that he becomes more dominant when he starts dating Julie, leading her, Gwen, or other females to fall under his power.
