As if on cue, Mari knelt down behind the couch, and emerged holding a gargantuan cardboard box that had the words 'PHOTO ALBUMS' scribbled onto the side.
A round of cheers and noises of intrigue and excitement erupted from the gathered group. Jenna looked the most enthusiastic alongside Mari, and Piper (complete with her little gremlin cackle she did when excited) was in close second. Riley and Juli looked interested, and their interest rose once they considered the new insight Jenna and the others could give on old family memories. Zoey and Persephone (though the latter attempted to look uninterested without success) were also enticed by the idea of learning more about their close friends. And Aiden, of course, was just happy to be there, the sweet boy never one to pass up on the socializing he'd missed much of in his childhood.
You, while still excited and appeased by your wife's idea of how to spend the day, were ever-so-slightly marginally less enthusiastic.
You knew for sure that in that photo box would be embarrassing and humiliating photos of Mari, Riley, and Juli. Said photos would demand stories to be told, and everyone would share a good laugh. And yet, for every photo of one of them, you knew with certainty that there would be three times as many of you. Especially as Mari had just finished printing thousands of digitized photos from the past few decades, and compiled them into the albums inside that box. There would be hundreds of stories about incidents that had befallen you, many of which the majority of the women sitting around you would have never heard.
It was all in good fun, you knew that. And yet, you couldn't help but sweep your gaze over the giantesses (and Piper and Aiden), and recognize that not a single one of them would truly get why some of the stories that were bound to come up might be extra-humiliating.
Jenna was a staunch ally of affected, for sure, but she wasn't one herself and couldn't 100% relate on a mental level. Riley was perhaps (bless her heart) too oblivious to get why you might be embarrassed, and Juli and Mari had proven themselves over and over again (once more, bless their hearts) to definitely not fully comprehend the struggles of a tiny. Zoey would be like Jenna with her earnest attempt to relate, but that only went so far. Aiden was too naïve to get it all, and Piper let incidents roll off her ever since shaking away the shadow of her brother, so she wouldn't really sync up either.
And Persephone was a whole other thing. Rumors on Weston campus said she was a monster that tortured tinies for pleasure, but having not technically witnessed that yourself, you were cautiously withholding judgment. Spilling your secrets to her didn't seem amazing, though, especially if she turned and blabbed to her demonic mother.
Still, at your very core, you were Matthew Jacobs, the tiny incapable of speaking up for himself for fear of hurting others, and so you did what you always did: you fell on your proverbial sword.
"Sounds amazing, babe!" You gave Mari a big thumbs-up, and she flashed you a flirty wink in return.
As she pulled out a few albums, you tried to think positively. Maybe this wouldn't be so bad. Maybe this would be an amazing trip down memory lane, complete with heart-warming stories and laughs all around!
Mari passed the first album to Jenna, who flipped open to a random page and pointed at the first image to catch her eye.
1) She's selected a picture of Mari, in her stunning wedding dress, with you (in a very crumpled suit) resting in her palm. It's from your wedding day, which was...one hell of a day.
2) She's selected a photo of you and Mari posing in front of a brochure that says 'CAN-DO IN CANCUN'. It was taken right before you and Mari went on your honeymoon, which in-and-of itself had been one crazy mess after the next. Jenna and the others want the whole story!
3) She's selected a photo of a much younger Riley and Juli, both girls smiling from ear-to-ear while Mari watches over, and a small tan lump rests in front of them all. That lump is you, and boy do you and Mari have a lot of stories you could tell about raising two rambunctious twins.
