Jimmy Olsen stepped out of the shower and wiped the mirror clear. He froze when he saw his reflection. His hair was bright orange, and his skin was pale with freckles. What the heck?
His once dark brown skin color was gone, replaced by this strange new look. He touched his hair, feeling the strange texture, his heart racing.
“No way…” he whispered.
He stared harder. Yesterday, he was dark brown. Now, he was someone else entirely.
Panicked, he ran into the living room. “Clark!” he shouted.
Clark Kent was sitting on the couch, sipping coffee and eating donuts. He looked up. “What’s wrong, Jimmy?”
“Clark, look at me!” Jimmy rushed over. “My hair! My skin! Something’s wrong!”
Clark blinked. “You’ve always looked like this, man. Ginger hair, white skin...”
“No, I didn’t!” Jimmy’s voice shook. “Yesterday, I was... different! I was black!”
Clark just shrugged. “You’ve always been this way. You’re fine.”
Jimmy stared at him, confused and frustrated. “I’m not fine, Clark!”
But Clark didn’t see it. Jimmy’s mind raced. Something had changed, and he couldn’t figure out why. The mystery had just begun
