"Oh! Well, I lost the neighbor's doormat from when we borrowed it last week for that party. I think I sent it to get cleaned. You know the one that the Smiths have with the smooth feel that says ‘Party On’ it was just so dirty that you couldn’t read it." Ellen rattled off while she wandered towards the garage.
“Okay… And you want my help?” You asked somewhat tepidly as she opened the door to the garage.
“Oh yes, Jenny has been really quite insistent that her front door looks barren without it. When you volunteered last night, well, I got everything ready so.” She clapped her hands together, turning you two dimensional. She started rubbing your face out with her thumbs and walked over to a little workbench with a very slightly bumpy rubber mat. “I have this basic mat I got for a couple of dollars that you can go over, you match the color and texture much better than anything I could find.” She laid you flat on the mat that was roughly a seventy centimeter by fifty centimeter common doormat and started pressing with the palms of her hands until your face was flattened to half and she spread your torso out over the other half. Your arms and legs were folded around the back and you wiggled to get free as soon as she stopped. As soft as Ellen’s hands were, the rough handling and bad quality mat under you made it feel like she was scratching you with a brillo pad. “Okay, I’ll need to mush your face up a little more so nobody notices but we can do that after we make sure you don’t accidentally come off.” She announced as she peeled you from the mat and dabbed a paintbrush under the edge and pressed your head back down onto it. The cool feeling of fast hardening glue made you want to scream as she did the same to the other side. She stepped back for a moment and then pinched at your corner and tried to gently peel you off. This of course didn’t work because of the glue that had been applied but she tried for a few more moments before giving a satisfied huff.
“Alright now lets fix those spots.” She said simply dropping you on the floor, now looking up at your towering mother as a foot came into view with a dark spot where she had been stepping in the dirt and dust of the garage. She pressed the ball of her foot right onto your nose, the smell of old sweat and dirt combined with a twisting motion as she stood on top of you trying to rub out your recognizable features with her weight and a few good twists. Her heel impacted one of your eyes and rubbed. While this didn’t make you blind perse it was deeply unpleasant as your eye became unrecognizable. The next time Ellen leaned over to check her work she smiled. “Perfect! Now I just need the words and you’ll be good enough to fool them until the real mat gets back from cleaning.” She bit her lip a little. “I didn’t want to say sorry until the end. Really though you’re saving me a lot of trouble honey, I’m so glad you’re willing to do this kind of thing for me.” She hugged your mat bound body to her chest and though it didn’t lessen the pain any it did make you feel a little better. You need to remind yourself never to drink again if something like this was going to be the result.

“It looks brand new! Gosh Ellen, thanks for bringing it back though. The doorway just doesn’t look right without it plus my shoes are always so dirty. Oh and the party this weekend would be a nightmare on the carpet without it.” Jenny Smith, the mother of your best friend Felicia placed you right inside her front door while Ellen and her continued chatting you were forced to look up at the ceiling. You spent most of the time trying to convince yourself it wasn’t going to be that bad but Jenny’s words really ruined that for you.
It didn’t take long for the conversation to fall off and Ellen went to leave, this time your mother’s flip flops slammed against your face and stomach as she left. It wasn’t a terrible beating but the full weight of her still hurt worse than you’d like. The bare feet that followed of the one-hundred and eighty-four centimeter woman pinched at your body. “Wonder what cleaner she sent it to. I gotta find out how they got it to feel so nice.” She wandered off to go watch T.V. leaving you to languish in your spot.

Several hours of listening to a boring show later the door opened again and a dirty sneaker slammed into your face followed by another onto your torso. This time the grooves gripped parts of your body and she scraped back leaving some of the dirt behind on your face as she continued to wipe her feet on what she could only consider a doormat until she was satisfied. Only then did she remove her shoes and step into the house. You could almost hear the dumb joke Felicia would make about ‘tones of guys would pay to get stepped on by me’ or something like that. You could only hope that the women of the house wouldn’t go out too often, but then you remembered Jenny was throwing a party this weekend and whimpered.
1. You spend a week trampled under the Smith women
2. The Party comes around so you get plenty of use
3. Ellen makes it back before the weekend to save you
4. Ellen shows up at the party with your replacement.
