Whatever was happening with the flute could wait, Ash really wanted his pokémon. "Nurse Joy, you said I could leave, didn't you?"
Nurse Joy nodded, "Of course, there doesn't seem to be anything wrong."
Ash trapped his bag before she could finish, "Thank you!" He then ran out of the room and signed himself out.
Ash practically ran to the lab, hoping beyond hope he wasn't too late.
When he entered the building, he was out of breath and noticed how no one was there. He really missed the whole thing.
"There you are." He heard Oak say. He turned to his right and saw Oak walking up to him. "I was wondering when you'd get here. Come on. Lucky for you, not all the pokémon have been claimed yet."
Ash followed and explained why he was late. Oak looked at him with sympathy, "Yes, I was afraid crime would rise with growth. But you can't stop progress. I learnt that from experience." Just then, the lift came to a stop.
As they walked out, a man with brown hair and a green shirt walked up to them. "Professor, I just finished with-." He then noticed Ash and extended his hand. "Hello. I'm Tracey Sketchit, the Professor's new assistant."
Ash shook Tracy's hand with a smike, "Ash Ketchum."
Tracy smiled, "So you're the famous Ash the professor talks about?"
Ash looked at Professor Oak who just said, "Tracy, would you mind getting any pokémon that weren't claimed, please?" With that, Tracy left.
Ash grinned at Oak. " So, talk about me often, do you?"
Oak wasn't as amused, "We've been friends since you were 10. And what makes you think I say nice things?" He smiled at that and Ash just chuckled.
Tracy started running with a pokeball. "Sorry, Professor. There was just the one left."
Oak was confused, "I could have sworn the were a handful left. Oh well, please show Ash his new pokémon."
Tracy released the pokémon to reveal _______.
