For me, it's not so much as collecting every trinket out there. One of the nice things that have come about with the advent of trinkets is simply more ways to add color to our WdC pages. Also, trinkets add more meaning. They provoke more thoughts...
I had stopped collecting after the first 34 trinkets so that I could make time to document how I discovered those trinkets. It's really wonderful that there are so many out there. But even more wonderful is to remember that feeling, that moment of discovering a new trinket. Then collecting it, then reading the inscription, then thinking about it on days after having collected it. The trinkets are so much more special by adding them to the collection slowly.
I know that by holding off of collecting, that I will miss out on some great rare pieces. However, I don't want to forget how special the moment was when I collected a trinket. For now, documenting the trinkets is a slow process. I have saved a bunch of links which I will visit as time permits.
Just to let you in on a secret (well not really a secret... it's actually pretty obvious) this trinket habit does feed my need to hoard large numbers of trinkets. Right now I have only 37. That sounds small. However, at the rate I am posting notes, the notes have gone ridiculously overboard. So hopefully I can make it work before getting buried by all the different directions this hobby is pulling me in.
