This choice: I wish we were back at my house on the mainland • Go Back...Chapter #3I wish we were back at my house on the mainland by: DougTF   Dan isn't sure about this and while he doesn't trust it, he also doesn't have any other explanation. So he makes a wish that is impossible, but also reasonable for the given situation. "Genie, I wish the two of us, my kayak and your bottle here" as he hefts it in his hand, "were all teleported back to my house on the mainland" And as Dan turns to point, he feels a tingle, and before he can even finish pointing at his house across the bay, a good two miles distant, he is instead pointing at his house, right before them, the two of them having instantly reformed there.
"HOLY CRAP! You're real, like really real, this is amazing" and Dan claps and laughs, then even hugs her, catching her off guard but she smiles. He blushes a bit as he breaks the hug, because he is wearing a wetsuit, and she is in a harem dancer outfit, so they probably both felt a bit more than he had planned. But she smiles warmly "I am happy to have pleased you master, and while it is normal to doubt the truth of my powers, I am glad you have put those doubts to rest. Your house is very lovely, and I assume it is on stilts in case the ocean ever floods the land?" as she looks up at it.
He grabs his kayak, lifting it easily and carries it under the house. Underneath is space to park two cars, one being a customized Jeep the other a Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato, but in between the two vehicles is a small section of the house, a door and racks on the back for kayaks. Dan puts the kayak into an open slot there, and then leads Genie inside. The room at ground level is not overly large, with a closet for wetsuits, a narrow set of drawers with towels and swimwear, including some for a woman. Genie's eyebrow raises at that and Dan notices "If you would like to change into something else, feel free. I keep some women's stuff for the beach and kayaking...I used to, well, I er, used to entertain more and figured it would be good to have some stuff for anyone I er, brought home overnight" and he looks embarrassed but Genie is nonplussed "Thank you for the offer master, though I am not sure what I would turn myself into.. you are the first master that ever allowed me such freedom"
Dan blinks and turns "Turn yourself into...I meant change your outfit, like put on one of these, but you thought I meant.... like, what turn yourself into a chair or a monkey or something? That's imp....well, no, you're telling me that sort of stuff is possible?" She nods smiling "Easily, can I show you master, or would you like to be changed into something?" He tugs at the collar of his wetsuit, clearly a little uncomfortable but smiles a little thinly "No, that's ok, you don't have to simply play with your magic because I am curious" But Genie nods "It's not playing and if you are curious, I would love to explore my magic with you master." He considers and then says "Ok, well, hold on for a second, let me er, change myself as it were" And he goes to get out of his swimsuit, wearing a speedo and rash guard under it, but stops when she says "I can do that as well, give you the ability to change yourself, either in form or psyche" He looks at her "Wait, what, can you explain that Genie?"
She nods and does so, "I can use my magic to make you a shapeshifter, capable of changing your physical form into anyone, or even anything else. Your awareness and most of your senses would remain, and I could communicate with you and tell who and what you were, but no one else would know or be able to tell. A more subtle sort of shifting would be to make you a thoughtchanger. A thought changer can alter their own psyche and persona to act and think like anyone or anything else. Normally this is very dangerous, since if you made yourself think like someone else, that new persona may not ever choose to go back to being you, or if you made yourself think like an animal or object would, you would be stuck. But my abilities can make it so you restore your true psyche either at a set time, or when your subconscious wills itself back into being. Combine the two powers and there is simply nothing and no one you can not become"
Dan gasps at the potential for that sort of power, and:  indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
