John felt a strange sensation run through him as Jessie complained about her clothes. He shook it off, thinking it was just a figment of his imagination. He stepped aside to let Jessie in and watched her head straight for the laundry room.
"Morning, Jessie!" Their mom, Sarah, called from the kitchen. She emerged with a warm smile, still dressed in her floral nightgown. "What brings you home so early?"
Jessie sighed dramatically. "The machines at school are ruining my clothes, mom. I need to use your washer and dryer."
Sarah nodded sympathetically. "Well, you know where everything is. Go ahead and start a load."
John finished his cereal and felt his shirt tighten slightly around his chest. He frowned, but didn't think much of it. He grabbed his backpack and headed out the door. "I'll see you all later!"
As he walked to school, he couldn't shake the feeling of his clothes fitting differently. His jeans seemed snugger, and his shirt definitely felt tighter.
