Chapter #4

No Escape From the Hoard

by: Unaccustomed Cucumber Author IconMail Icon
You timing couldn't have been any worse, the edge of the lid rose forward just as you had made your leap of faith. The plastic collided harshly with your body and sent you tumbling down its length back into the putrid recesses of the trash bag. Adding insult to injury, the chaos of buzzing flies returned to punish your measly attempt at escape, you smacked into the back of one fly and into another and another until you fell into an immensely thick goo. When your eyes open you realize exactly where you are, all around you stretched an endless see of partially dried green mucus surrounded by walls of tissue paper. Already sinking into your snotty confines you stare helplessly up as the man begins to tie off the garbage bag, sealing you and a couple unlucky flies inside. You scream and scream until your throat can no longer produce sound. The garbage man, oblivious to your plight, tosses the bag into the rear of the truck and signals the driver to move on.

Your shouting seems to have attracted the remaining flies as they begin to land on the snot sea sending seismic ripples across its surface with each impact. You nearly faint as a humongous fly lands right over you, completely unaware of your presence beneath it. You watch in fear as the flies begin to feast on the slimy boogers, regurgitating acids and sucking them back up through their straw-like proboscis. The fly above you shifts its weight and with one calculated step, a fly leg smashed down onto you with unbearable weight. You feel your bones begin to fracture under the insects foot, the weight of which begins to force you deeper and deeper into the mucus. Eventually your head falls under the surface and you begin to drown in some stranger's snot. The revolting substance invades your mouth and lungs as you squirm desperately under the fly. You vision goes dark and your body finally gives out. After some time you are eventually swallowed up by a fly and redeposited onto the now exposed dog feces during the flies' next meal...
