“What’s ‘the potty’?” Asked a girl with big blue eyes, a bouncing pair of pigtails and too much earnest wonder to be joking.
“Y-you know… a toilet.” According to the blank stares they somehow did not know “it’s what you use when you’re body needs to… produce waste.” Myrtle did her best to explain all while willing her bladder to hold with a slight groan. She really should be running down the hall to make it to the ladies room before the worst came to pass. But her students seemed to be actually engaging for once. They looked absolutely fascinated
“How do you use it?” A young man asked
“What’s waste?” A young woman piped up
“Does it hurt?” Came a third voice towards the back
“Okay okay, let’s all raise our hands and wait our turns. I’ll do my best to answer all your questions.” She could stay for just a little longer. She was a big girl, she could hold it. “To answer those first few, you use it by sitting down on it. Waste is what’s left after your body extracts the nutritional value from your food and gets rid of what’s left (that got a few “ewws” from the students who were just now catching on). And no, the process is typically quite painless.”
A hand shot up like a bullet and Myrtle was quick to call upon its over “oh oh oh! I know what that is! We’ve got one of those in the bathroom at my house. My mommy sits on it when she gives me my bath. And she makes makes me sit on top when I brush my teeth all by myself so I’ll stay in one place.” The girl in her early twenties happily reported. “And it’s got a water hole in it that when you pull the lever when something’s in it it goes bye bye.”
“Uh… yes, that’s the one. Good answer, Keisha, was it?”
The hands kept coming up and Professor Coleridge was eager to answer them a, no matter how dumbed down the subject matter was. Now how to deal with the matter of her need to pee?
