“Boss, hey boss?” Paulo internally groaned and turned to meet Mac as he came up to tell him whatever had gone wrong. Mac was practically a kid, still in his early twenties. Despite being one of the younger members of his crew his visage looked like he’d been carved from a hunk of stone. But he was a sweet kid who others found difficult to stay mad at. So it was only natural that his fellow construction workers had dubbed him their unofficial bearer of bad news.
“What is it this time, Kid?” Paulo sighed and waited for Mac to say his piece. In response the young man gestured behind himself with a thumb over his shoulder.
