"Nate, I'm home!" That's what he heard as he was getting dressed.
As he went downstairs, he was curious as to why his mother felt the need to announce her presence like that.
"Nate, do you know Professor Juniper?" She said just as he reached the bottom.
He had no idea who this professor was. "That's the local geology teacher, isn't it?"
His mother just smiled. "She's a Pokémon researcher. As well as an old friend of mine who just called me for the first time in ages. She said her assistant, Bianca, is on her way to give you your starter."
It took Nate a second to register what she just said. "Wait, so I'm getting my starter?! When's she getting here?!"
"Weeelll, that's the thing. Juniper said Bianca left without getting our address. Considering how long ago she left, she should be here by now."
Nate rubbed his eyes, annoyed. "So you're telling me I have to find her? Isn't that a bit backwards?"
After being told what Bianca was wearing, he went out to find her.
Before leaving, he packed the pokéflute he found yesterday, as well as his X-Transceiver.
As soon as he left, Hugh came running up to him.
"Hey Nate, been a while. You got a Pokémon yet?"
"Actually, I was just about to go get it."
Hugh nodded. "Yea, I get it. I'm just getting a bit bored being the only trainer- What?"
Nate explained what his mother told him, and Hugh just got more excited. Until he heard about Bianca running off.
"So how the hell are we supposed to find her?" Hugh asked, just as annoyed as Nate.
"I was actually going to ask Rosa, she alwaysknows where to find people."
With that, they went to Rosa's place.
When they got there, she suggested they try Outlook Point due to people being drawn to it.
They went to check it out and she went with them.
When they got there, Hugh suggested Nate go up alone as it was his Pokémon they were there for.
Rosa agreed, so up he went.
When he got up there, he saw a woman matching the description he was given. Blond hair, big green hat, and orange coat.
"It's so beautiful, isn't it?" She asked when she saw Nate. "I've never seen anything as pretty as this."
She turned towards him before her eyes bulged, recalling why she was here. "Oh! Oh no! I'm supposed to be here for Nate! Wait, you wouldn't happen to know Nate, would you?"
He calmed her down and explained he was the one she was looking for, and he knew who she was.
When she calmed down, she apologised, gave him a pokédex, and picked up a cylinder from the floor.
"These are your pokémon. All you have to do is choose."
He looked at the pokéballs and the images in front of them.
When he made his choice, he heard Hugh call out to him.
"How much longer are you going to be?"
Nate explained that he just chose and introduced him to Bianca.
He introduced himself and said that he was planning to be a trainer himself.
Hearing that, she gave him a pokédex and asked if he had a pokémon.
"Yep. Raised it from an egg."
Her eyes lit up. "Can I see it?"
He chuckled. "Only if Nate shows me his first."
With that, they threw the pokéballs up.
