Mark couldn’t believe that dream for a single second and decided to move on with his day. He sat around and played some video games until his mom called him for dinner. He made his way downstairs and joined his family who was already eating.
“Hey son, when you get the chance, the trash needs to go out,” his mom said to him.
“Guhhhh fine, I can’t wait til Sam can do it,” Mark groaned as he knew he’d have to throw out the trash for another couple years before Sam could do it. As he continued to eat, his parents talked.
“You know son, I think you are wasting your youth. I get you say college is when you’ll get out there but I think you should enjoy high school. God knows I did,” Mark’s dad chuckles. The amount of stories his dad and mom told him about when they were in high school blurred at this point. The parties, the sex, the drugs. It was same old same old with Mark’s parents.
“Big brother, my friend said that his big brother can beat my big brother. I said no my big brother is more better,” Carly said to Mark. It was cute she still looked up to him. Give it a couple years and she’d be a teen and wouldn’t see him the same way.
Dinner wrapped up and mark decided to throw out the trash. He grabs the bag and as he exits the house, he slips on a pair of shoes by the front door. He throws the trash out, kicks off the shoes, and makes his way up the stairs. As Mark lays in bed, he can’t help but feel something off.
