Ash's dream was to be a Pokémon Master, it had been his dream for as long as he could remember. Now, he could finally start his journey. Sadly, it started with a shock.
He awoke feeling incredible pain. He looked over to his Pikachu who was currently sitting on the floor looking annoyed.
"What was that for?" He asked as the pain began subsiding.
He got Pikachu from Professor Oak nearly three months ago. They didn't start out liking each other, but quickly bonded after Ash saved him from a hoard of Spearow. Despite this, Pikachu still tended to shock him every so often.
Pikachu jumped onto Ash's desk and pointed at the clock, which currently read 10:15.
Realising he overslept again, Ash was forced to speed dress and leave without breakfast.
He began running to Oak's lab to obtain his Pokémon Licence. Without which, he wouldn't legally be allowed to own any pokémon.
As he turned the corner, he bumped into someone.
"Sorry, I was looking where I was going." Ash rubbed his head.
"I can see that." Said a familiar voice.
Ash looked up to see Professor Oak himself.
"I was finished giving pokémon away and you still hadn't shown up. So I thought I'd come to you." Oak was saying as Ash got up.
Oak gave Ash a red card which turned out to be his Pokémon Licence.
"Thank you Professor, but why-?"
"Becuase if you were any later, you'd miss what's happening at the park." With that, Oak headed back towards his lab.
Confused, Ash began heading towards the park. Pikachu seemed to be tired of walking as he was now sitting on Ash's shoulder... and currently had a pokéflute in his mouth.
Ash wondered where Pikachu got it and, when he seemed to be passing the flute to him, put it in his bag.
Upon arriving at the park, he saw a large white tent and inside were three stalls. There didn't look to be many people left walking around.
Looking around himself, he found the stalls were recruiting new Trainers to the Team Trio, as they had come to be known.
He hadn't heard much about them and wondered why everyone was so excited to join one of them.
As he walked across the blue stand, he payed attention to the screen. On it was an androgynous person with long silver hair and an equally long blue coat. Behind them was an ocean with icebergs.
"Greetings Trainer. I am Blanche, the leader of Team Mystic. The wisdom of Pokemon is immeasurably deep. I am researching why it is that they evolve. With our calm analysis of every situation, we can't lose!" The ocean enveloped them and the screen showed a picture of Articuno. They spoke with in an almost cold, calculating manner.
Moving over the the yellow stand, he watched as the screen changed to a man with spikey blond hair and a yellow shirt under a black jacket. He was standing with a mountain and thunderstorm as background. The way he spoke clearly came from the heart.
"Hey! The name's Spark—the leader of Team Instinct. Pokemon are creatures with excellent intuition. I bet the secret to their intuition is related to how they're hatched. Come and join my team! You never lose when you trust your instincts!" A lightning bolt struck him and the screen changed to a picture of Zapdos.
Finally, he walked over to the red stall and saw the screen change to a woman with short brown hair, wearing a white coat that had red lines and the shoulders and a red interior. There was nothing but intense fire behind her. She spoke with equally intense passion.
"I'm Candela — Team Valor's leader! Pokemon are stronger than humans, and they're warmhearted, too! I'm researching ways to enhance Pokemon's natural power in the pursuit of true strength. There's no doubt that the Pokemon our team have trained at the strongest in battle! Are you ready?" She was consumed by flames as the screen returned to a picture of Moltres.
Ash could see why people wanted to join, each team spoke to someone. Thinking for a minute, he decided to join... indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
