When I was a baby, my grandma, my dad's mom, was battling severe cancer. She underwent chemotherapy, fighting through the pain and uncertainty. Miraculously, she survived, and I’ll always treasure the memory of her joyful face as she welcomed the 3-year-old granddaughter she had fought so hard to see grow up. That moment, filled with love and resilience, stands out as one of the few memories I have from my early childhood — a reminder of her unwavering spirit and the bond we shared as she celebrated each milestone with me.
