It was a day like any other for the Drangua Quentin Andross, leader of the NanoCorps, as he strolled through the bustling streets of Toweral City to pick a few things for the headquarters. He nodded at passersby and exchanged quick greetings with locals who recognized him, even some giving him thoughtful gifts of his heroic actions. Yet, the day would soon take a turn none of them could have foreseen.
A mysterious short hooded figure emerged from the crowd, their movements almost ethereal as they approached Quentin.
"Kehehe...you look worthy enough to receive this gift, 'hero'..."
Quentin was skeptical and was about to say something until they handed him an ordinary wooden chest. Before Quentin could question them, the mysterious figure vanished into thin air, leaving only the chest in his hands and a sense of unease in his heart.
Curiosity tugged at him, but Quentin decided to wait until he returned to the headquarters to inspect the strange gift. Back at the NanoCorps base, he gathered his remaining team while the others were on a mission. They circled around the chest, their intrigue palpable.
So...you got this 'gift' from a hooded person?” Viz Archer asked, his cybernetic arms folded as he studied the chest. "Any Idea what's in it?"
"Don't know. I didn't get the chance to ask them." Quentin mutters.
"Maybe it’s a trap.” Zeke offered in his deep, gravelly voice, his mechanical arms gleaming under the fluorescent lights. “But if it’s trouble, we can handle it.”
“Or maybe it’s treasure!” Adelee Witt chimed in, her playful tone cutting through the tension. “Only one way to find out, right?”
"I guess...here goes nothing." Quentin opened the chest and inside lay a mushroom-shaped crown. It is rather big and puffy with a mixture of yellow and blue with red and white spots surrounded by a golden band with eyes.
“...A crown?” Scar, the grumpy hedgehog, muttered.
"Hmm...” Xaria observed the crown as she senses magical essence from within. The demon sorceress’s red eyes narrowed as she examined the artifact from a distance. “Be careful, sweet leader, I believe this crown posses magic.”
"Really?" Quentin picks up the crown as he examined it. "You mean this cosplay thing is magical? Doesn't look like it..."
"Heh, only one way to find out..." Viz, with a smirk, plucking the crown from Quentin and placing it squarely on the Drangua’s head. "Haha, looking good, your majesty."
Adelee and the Three Marine Stooges chuckles at the crown wearing leader, who is not amused and glares at Viz, smirking.
As he about to take the crown off, a radiant flash of light erupted, blinding everyone in the room. The brilliance forced them to shield their eyes as the intensity of the glow enveloped Quentin. When the light dimmed, all eyes turned to where Quentin had been standing.
"What the...?" Viz muttered, his smirk fading as he took in the sight before him.
"S-S-Sweet Blue Seas..." Petire studders.
"G-G-Golly..." Adelee was stunned as well.
"Oh my..." Xaira was half surprised and amused.
Quentin was no longer himself, and in his place stood a stunningly beautiful woman. Long, flowing black hair cascaded down to her waist, with red tips contrasting the dark locks, mirroring the opposite colors of Quentin's original hair. Soft bangs swept across her forehead, partially concealing her left eye. Her slender yet voluptuous figure was accentuated by her ample curves and the striking pair of red dragon horns that adorned her head.
She was dressed in an elegant, form-fitting black gown, adorned with red frills that wrapped around her waist, highlighting her hourglass shape. The dress featured a sweetheart neckline that showcased her ample bosom while a cutout at her midriff revealed her toned flat stomach. Her outfit was completed with a pair of black and red slingback high heels.
On her head, the crown that caused her transformation had also transformed; it had shrunk to fit her head, and its eyes now vanished, replaced by two small red and white spots that added a touch to her monarchical-like appearance.
"Uh...guys?" Quentin’s voice came out smooth and alluring, alien to her own ears. She then caught sight of her reflection in a nearby monitor. Her eyes widened in disbelief as she sees herself, slowly trail her hands down on her new body. "What the hell happened to me...?"
Adelee burst into laughter, unable to contain herself. "Boss, you’re...you’re gorgeous!"
“Not funny.” Quentin's cheeks flushing as she tugged at the crown, her visible eye widens as it wouldn’t budge. No matter how hard she tried, it felt as though it were fused to her very being. "Oh no...don't tell me..."
"It's stuck? Geez...maybe putting it on your head wasn't the best idea," Viz muttered with a nervous chuckle, scratching the back of his neck as he watched Quentin march toward him, anger blazing in her single visible eye. Her fists were clenched tightly, and the low growl escaping her lips made Viz instinctively take a step back. "E-Easy there, Andross. I-I didn't realize it would turn you into such a stunning woman!" he stammered, his voice breaking as he tried to lighten the mood.
Quentin stopped inches away, her fiery glare locked on him. "You're lucky I don't roast you right here, you little—" Before she could finish, the crown on her head glowed brightly, pulsing with an intense light. In an instant, Viz began to shrink. His towering frame diminished at an alarming speed until he was no taller than a doll.
The room fell into stunned silence. All eyes were fixed on the now pint-sized Viz, who stared up at Quentin with a mixture of shock and disbelief. "Wha...what just happened?" He squeaked, his voice now a comical high pitch.
Quentin blinked, her anger momentarily forgotten as she stared down at the miniature version of her friend. "Uh...did I do that?" She asked.
Xaria, standing at the edge of the room, folded her arms and let a sly smile creep across her face. "It seems the crown doesn’t just transform the wearer, it bestows powers, too. How intriguing."
Adelee crouched down to get a closer look at the tiny Viz, her mischievous grin lighting up her face. "You’re adorable like this!" She teased, poking at his tiny body. "Can we keep him like this? Maybe make him our team pet?"
“Hell no!” Viz snapped, crossing his tiny arms and glaring up at her. "Andross, undo this! Now!"
Quentin crouched down, her lips curling into a wicked smirk as she carefully pinched Viz’s exo-vest between her fingers, lifting him off the ground. She held him close to her face, examining him with mock fascination. "You know, Viz, I think I like you better this way." She teased. "You’re like a cute little pet...maybe I should make you my personal servant to teach you a lesson about putting an unknown magical."
"N-Not funny, Andross!" Viz squirmed in her grasp, his face reddening with frustration. "I-I'm sorry, alright?! Change me back, please?!"
Quentin chuckled softly, clearly enjoying his predicament. "Alright, alright. Let me see what I can do." She placed him gently on the floor, taking a step back. With a flick of her fingers—and a bit of dramatic flair—the crown glowed once more, and Viz rapidly returned to his full size. He stumbled slightly as he adjusted, his cheeks still flushed with embarrassment.
"There. Happy now?" Quentin said with a smirk, crossing her arms.
"Thanks...imagine Rine saw me at that size" He muttered with a slight blush on his cheeks, brushing himself off.
Chuckling, Quentin’s gaze fell back to the crown. "Well...we need to figure out where this thing came from and how to get it off me, starting by finding that person..."
"Beta and Delta are out on a mission for now, so I'll contact them to check out this crown." said Zeke. "In the meantime, kid-oh right, I guess we got to call you a new name. Roaming around "
"Seriously?"
"Oh, oh! I got one! Quentina!" Adelee said, giggling with glee.
Quentin groaned, rubbing her temple in frustration. "Quentina? Really, Adelee? That’s the best you could come up with?"
The toon jester crossed her arms and pouted playfully. "What? It’s cute, and it fits! Plus, you need a name while you’re rocking the new form."
"She’s got a point, kid." Zeke added, his usual gruff tone lightened with amusement. "You can’t go around as Quentin in...well, attractive body. It’d raise too many questions."
Quentin sighed, running a hand through her flowing black and red hair. "Fine, call me whatever you want. Just know, this is temporary. Once Beta and Delta get back, we’re getting this thing off me, understood?"
"Quentina it is!" Adelee exclaimed, grinning ear to ear.
Scar, who had been observing silently from a corner, smirked. "I’m just glad it’s not me in that crown. You’ve got a whole new set of problems to deal with, Quentina."
"Very funny, Scar," Quentin shot back, rolling her eyes.
Xaria stepped forward. "Until we uncover the crown’s origins, you might want to have a little stroll around the city and test out the crown's power?"
Quentin, now Quentina, raises her eyebrow. "Why?"
"I'm actually quite curious of its power and shall gladly hear its results...also, hehe, you're quite the distraction for our boys here."
Quentina narrowed her eyes at Xaria. “Distraction? What—” she noticed the not-so-subtle glances from Petire, Ralph, Sharper, and even Viz, all of whom quickly averted their eyes when she turned her fiery gaze on them.
"...Point taken." Quentina sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose. “Alight, I'll go. Call me if either Beta or Delta returns.”
The group nodded as they watched her headed for the door, her heels clicking softly against the marble floor of their base.
“Remember, if anything happens, we’re just a call away.” Zeke said, his voice serious but with a hint of amusement. “Though I’m sure you can handle yourself, kid...I mean, Quentina.”
"Yeah, yeah," Quentina muttered, waving a dismissive hand as she exited and sprouts her dragon wings from her back before took flight, heading towards Toweral.
